For GNOME 3.10, all the display configuration/xrandr code has been moved
into Mutter as dbus interface. The Main reason for this move was to
abstract away the display server (x11/wayland).
This affects gnome-desktop3 and gnome-settings-daemon. In particular the
changes in

currently g-s-d 3.8 crashes when running gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.10
as per gnome3-team ppa. Due to some changes in how the deprecated
settings are handled.
While this fix isnt specifically required for saucy it does make things
easier for us, and it will be one less

nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share

The greeter settings in custom.conf are obsolete and no longer available
in the gnome-shell greeter.
Only disable-user-list is available, Filtering specific users has not
been implemented AFAIK.
The correct way to do this is to make an .override file in
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas

Can you upload you gdm logs from /var/log/gdm/
Best if you first enable debug mode by editing /etc/gdm/custom.conf
(although you may need to re-install gdm, since it looks like that file
is missing in your logs above).

Currently no graphics card info is show for nvidia blob.
This is fallout from the glxinfo replacement patch, and since that has
been backported, I imagine it will be broken in 3.6 g-c-c also.
I have a upstream fix awaiting review in the linked bug. I will try and
get this

seperate libgdm binary package (well these are symlinks so also need the
corresponding files for /usr/lib/gdm)

Seems we are missing a dependency on 'system-config-printer-gnome'. All
the other flavours have that in their desktop meta package, we probably
