I have not seen that crash here.
It looks like it is failing to create the open_button menu, which uses
the pan-down-symbolic icon. I don't see how that icon could be missing
though, its part of adwaita-icon-theme (which is also used by ubuntu
themes)

Rob, I believe the code that creates the xorg.conf was merged into
ubuntu-drivers-common, however the gpu-manager task does not currently
run under gdm. Do you get a autogenerated xorg.conf if you edit
/etc/init/gpu-manager.conf
to include an
'or starting gdm'

The patch that introduces UOA support in shotwell, needs to be tweaked
to fallback to the upstream behaviour if UOA is not installed. We have

This crash appears to be happening when disconnecting an iphone (or
other idevice). The stack trace show it trying to create a new pairing
which fails (presumably since the idevice is now unplugged).

gnome-settings-daemon just reads the configuration from Xinput I
believe. So you should use that to configure your mouse, rather than
xorg.conf snippets

with debian, but is already ready. Just needs a rebuild
