You still can, by setting "allow_rgb10_configs" true in drirc for gnome-
shell. Only the driver defaults were flipped.
Note that the modesetting driver does not support it, only after we get
xserver 1.20 in 18.10. So for Intel hw you'd need to use the -intel
driver until then.

Still not upstream? We'll have kernel 5.4 in 20.04, and likely won't be
backporting big patchsets like this for it. Sounds like these would have
to wait for the 20.04.2 HWE update in early 2021.. (backported from
20.10)
