[Bug 1024961] [NEW] Gimp causes session to close immediately
Public bug reported: Whenever I use Gimp, with the first mouse click in the image (e.g. selecting a region or ANYTHING else) - my Ubuntu session is immediately killed - all windows disappear and I return to the login screen of Ubuntu. No matter what was running - it is closed and lost. There are no other signs I can see, simply nothing. [Bug 948214] [NEW] Clicking breadcrumb does not select panel in Nautilus
Public bug reported: This is a real show-stopper for using more than one panel. When showing an additional view on a directory using the F3 functionality additional panel (don't know the English translation for it, in German: zusätzliche Leiste) you see two different locations side-by-side. This is nice and really handy. What really is inconsistent: to switch between them you have to click inside the main area, clicking on the breadcrumb above each panel does not switch the focus at all, the click is ignored completely! I would definitely expect this to work as I always fall for that, wanting to switch directories in one panel by clicking on its bread crumb - with no effect. I need to click inside the main area first and then again, second click, in the bread crumb. Pleaase change this Thanks! No, that is not true. I just tested the work week view, clicked change month in the little calendar to the left and ended up in day view! There's even another strange behavior to see: when you enable week numbers (shown in the little calendar), select work week view and then click on the week numbers, you stay in work week view - that is correct. But clicking next month then (only when week numbers is enabled!!) you end up in the next month, but the shown week (still work week view) is something like Wednesday to Tuesday or Thursday to Wednesday - but NOT Monday through Sunday anymore! Very, very annoying and wrong behavior!! Could somebody please just see how Outlook does this? That would be correct behavior! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388550 Title: Can't change default calendar view To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution/+bug/388550/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 805114] [NEW] Switching to next/prev month changes view
Public bug reported: My favorite view is the work week view - all 7 days next to each other, all other views are not necessary... But: when I click on the left or right arrow button in the small calendar in the left panel to go to the next or previous month, Evolution always changes the selected view to day view - but why??? I consider this to be a bug as moving in the calendar should never affect the user selected view - it has nothing to do with it! Please fix! [Bug 803983] [NEW] When opening second picture, window does not get focus
Public bug reported: I was really annoyed by eog today because whenever I double-clicked a picture the opened eog window did not get the focus, even though it popped up in front. When pressing any key like left arrow or right to move to next/prev picture, it failed. Nautilus still had keyboard focus! I found out that happened because I forgot another eog window somewhere else, minimized, on different screen, it does not matter. To reproduce: open one picture with eog, leave that window. Go back to Nautilus, open a second picture! The unity dock indicates by shaking the icon, but the new picture appears - just as you want. But it will not have keyboard focus. That is really, really annoying. Maybe it's a Unity bug though, I am not sure... [Bug 799474] [NEW] Trash can not working on different partition but root
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Because I have a fast, but small SSD, some of my user home files, like videos, reside on a secondary real harddisk. I got a mountpoint /homehdd that is used as a mountpoint for my partition on the hdd. I got a symbolic link of the Videos folder of my user redirected to this position. But now: whenever I delete a file in any of those folders, it cannot be moved to trash but instead has to be deleted immediately. How on earth can I get a trashcan on other partitions??? It IS working on USB devices, but why not here? I consider this to be a bug. More specific: it is a Nautilus bug to simply state cannot move to trash, do you want to delete immediately? - I expect a REASON why it cannot be moved to trash so I can DO something about it! The lack of information is really a bug, in case anybody does not consider the behavior of the trashcan to be a bug! [Bug 797116] [NEW] Import of photos to be COPIED does not work correctly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I try to import photos into my library, put the new photo (a sinlge picture!) into a temp folder in my home directory. Choose import folder, select the folder and THEN choose Copy instead of link. = the picture is not copied but stays where it is! When I open Nautilus using the context menu on this picture, the temp folder is shown! Tough bug! What happens when I choose to copy??? Is that ignored? Is it because it is a single picture?? Maybe this is important: I have a Solid State Disk with my home on it. But large amounts of data (like my pictures!) are stored on the second hard disk drive. So my Pictures folder is a symlink to a different partition!! ~/Pictures - /homehdd/myuser/Pictures Maybe that is causing the trouble?? [Bug 197762] Re: file transfers on USB flash key (pendrive) or USB HDD are slowing down with time
This bug is the most annoying, most critical and nerve-wracking one in the whole Ubuntu universe! This makes me hate my beloved Ubuntu cause I am not able to use ANY USB-connected memory device! I can also constitute that when copying large files (100MB) to any USB device (memory stick, hard drive, does not matter...) the transfer starts normal with a couple of MB/sec, everything's normal - but then, after 100 MB have been transfered, the speed drops dramatically down to a few KB/sec - when copying 2 GB files, I sometimes get the remaining time up to over 1 hour!! What I can see then, is that the load of the system rises to 6 or even 8 - only because of that file transfer going on. When the copy finally is done, the system behaves normal again and the load is where it belongs, 0.something or so. This problem has been there for quite some time now, at least the last 1,5 to 2 years! I am not sure though when it first hit me... I am using the 64bit Ubuntu 9.10 currently on a Dell Latitude D830. Is there ANYBODY out there who knows how to fix this?? I don't want to have to use Windows just because file copying is so damn slow! Also, I am always kind of in a trouble when I want to copy files for friends: when they see how long it takes I cannot find a single positive argument for them to switch to Ubuntu anymore!! :-( -- file transfers on USB flash key (pendrive) or USB HDD are slowing down with time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197762 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
