1.60GHz. I'm using an old Athlon XP 2700+ 2.17GHz (333MHz FSB) and when

I'm not sure if it is relevant to the kate lyrics part of this bug, but
GStreamer Base Plug-ins 0.10.32 has implemented packet duration query
for kate streams within ogg - see

cannot see the errors on pages 9 and 12.

Do you have WINE installed? What about ttf-mscorefonts? I have neither
installed. Something is causing fontconfig to choose a different symbol
font on your system than on my system. To see the full details of the
file being used type

Preferences from Totem's Edit menu, then select the Display tab and then
tick Disable deinterlacing of interlaced videos.

I haven't changed any font related options (or any other options for
that matter) in Firefox. I have attached a screenshot showing how the
test page looks on my system.

Interestingly, if I navigate to the test page and then reload it, I can
briefly see the words This is a test., as well as the left-bracket (
after the 8. On completion of the reload I can only see the 8 as in the
screenshot attached to comment #24. I'm guessing this is the expected

small-old system is to stick with Ubuntu 10.04, which is a Long Term
Support (LTS) release and has a version of Totem which does not do
deinterlacing.
Why does he want/need to run the latest Ubuntu 10.10 on such an old
