I have tested the - Add support for midi files part of the Web browser
plugin in this package, using the files at http://punk.mididb.com/clash/
Before the update, when I clicked on one of the song links Firefox would
prompt me for an action for this filetype, with Open using movie
player (or

Well I had a hard time finding any FLAC files, let alone free ones, but
I eventually found one to download. I'm listening to Rhythmbox playing
it now on Karmic 9.10. It sounds great.
Make sure you have all of the following installed:

Yeah, your best bet for now is probably VLC. You can download Ubuntu
10.04 LTS from http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download but you
would have to do a clean install. As far as I know it is not possible
to downgrade to an earlier version, keeping config etc.

I fully agree about the need for more testing. If I was you I'd be
feeling pretty frustrated right now. Although I think Canonical could do
more testing of Ubuntu before release, I would also like to say that
testing is something that us users can help out with. Canonical do not
have the money

It is interesting that the direct GStreamer playback worked. I wonder
if the problem is due to compositing, or to Totem, or both. We can also
see in the terminal output that Xvideo is being used - I'm not sure if
this is the case when playing

Please tell us which version of Ubuntu you are using and run apport-
collect 849821 without the quotation marks.
Also, empathy 3.2.1-0ubuntu1 is now available in the Ubuntu repositories
for the upcoming Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin. It contains what
sounds like a possible fix for this problem.
Both Jaunty and Karmic are no longer supported. Also, Banshee has
replaced Rhythmbox as the standard music player in Natty and later.
