Ah, OK, it shows up when you zoom in a little. I think the SVG icons are

svg version=1.1 id=Layer_1 xmlns=ns_svg;
xmlns:xlink=ns_xlink; width=128 height=128 viewBox=0 0 128 128
Is this a HIG guideline? If not, I would reject the bug. If so, it would
be worth further consideration. Right now I like the balance of the
colours on the dialog, if we can come up with a more formal rationale
for their positions I'd be happy to take it. But unless there's a very

It's certainly a compromise, and I hope the tooltip text is enough of a
disambiguator. Most people will FIRST want that button to power down

along the way they will discover that they have all these other ways to
step away.
Thanks for the analysis James. Can you tell me, if we tell the
index.theme that our scalable ones are at 128x128, will it still use the
SVG's if it needs to say produce a 49x49 icon? There must be some
threshold at which it is better to scale the SVG *down* than to scale
the 48x48 PNG image
Black is too much of a jump. You can play with this using your desktop
image setting dialog, switching between the plain colour image and the
Ubuntu Lagoon image. So either leave it as it is, or try #461503 and see
if that makes folks happier. Don't spend more than 5 minutes on it though.
--
It is an attempt to find a colour which (a) looks like a base colour for

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: notification-daemon
The popup is sometimes too small, but doesn't even wrap text - it simply
gets cut off. This is not easily reproducible. I don't know when/why it
happens. Please see screenshot...
** Affects: notification-daemon (Ubuntu)
** Attachment added: Truncated notification popup
