Hi Sebastien - after having reinstalled from scratch, I haven't gotten
the bug again. All menubars are present and are working OK.

Kind regards

Do you still get the bug and can get extra debug informations?

2007-07-23 Thread peter.stigaard
Hi Sebastian

I'm a first time user, and I don't think I use compiz - I haven't
installed any extra things, except the updates provided for Ubuntu.
As stated in the bug-report, all the menubars (and especially the main
menubar with Programs, Places and System) have vanished, and I have NO
idea how to get them back. My only solution was to reinstall from
scratch.

Is there a smart way to get the menus back ?

Kind regards

Thank you for your bug. Do you have any error in .xsession-errors when
that happens? Does it work with an another user? Do you use compiz?

[Bug 126456] all menubars/panels disappears

2007-07-16 Thread peter.stigaard
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

After installing some updates, all the menubars/panels disappered. I'm a
first time user of Ubuntu, and I couldn't find any way to restore the
menubars/panels. The only solution I found, was to reinstall Ubuntu from
scratch.

Is there a way to restore the panels - applications, places and system ?
Since none of the panels were present, I couldn't load /make a new
panel.
