[Bug 1762952] Re: Alternative shortcut for layout switching Alt+Shift unexpectedly set by default

2018-07-24 Thread Adam Conrad
Re-opening this bug as we had to revert the fix, because it was causing
an installer regression:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1783326

That said, I think the "run it sometimes, but not always" fix was
probably naive at best. The only two options that seem to make sense
for fixing this properly are:

1) Make GNOME stop writing things to that file that console-setup doesn't
understand, or
2) Make console-setup understand the things GNOME writes to that file.

The second option is certainly the more appealing of the two, but it's
clearly not going to happen before the point release in two days.

[Bug 1315442] Re: Extra fi in /etc/init.d/gdm

2015-04-03 Thread Adam Conrad
Hello Owen, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gdm into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at

hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1214352] Re: [SRU] GUINT32/64_SWAP_LE_BE macros do not enclose val argument in parentheses

2015-03-09 Thread Adam Conrad
We are not going to be rebuilding all of glib's rdeps for this in an
SRU. That's insanity. I'm going to look at this later to see if
there's anything we can do that looks like a sensible and targeted fix,
but it does look like this is just a poor SRU candidate, due to the
regression potential being worse than the fix, and people who really
care deeply should perhaps just upgrade to 14.04.

can you (strongly) suggest that this needs two fixes? First, obviously it

14:13 infinity jdstrand: Since there's no way to 100% be sure you know the

becomes must because of the uncertainty.

[Bug 1165742] Re: Synctex plugin was not built in raring

2013-10-08 Thread Adam Conrad
So, while this *should* be fixed in dbus-python, there exists the
hilarious situation right now that python-dbus depends on python-dbus-
dev for backward compat, so making python-dbus-dev depend on
libdbus-1-dev would pull libdbus-1-dev onto every desktop, which is less
than ideal.

When that backward compat dependency is removed, someone should fix
python-dbus-dev's dependencies.

gedit-plugins in saucy already has the extra libdbus-1-dev build-dep, so
this should be working correctly there. Thus, the only thing that could
use a fix is a raring SRU of gedit-plugins, if someone feels the urge.
