This bug is fixed is fixed in current gutsy (1/10/07). gnome-panel does
not crash following installation of packages, whether using the
add/remove tool, apt-get, aptitude or synaptic. gnome bugzilla indicates
the patch was applied at gtk 2.10 - gutsy uses 2.12 by default.

Henrik: It seems this is correct behaviour, assuming that the nautilus
window is showing the same icon as the properties dialog, as in my
attached screenshot.

Nautilus uses wrong icons for text
Correct behaviour for this would apparently be for the nautilus window
to show the same icon as in the properties dialog. Current gutsy
(1/10/07) does this (nautilus version 1:2.20.0-0ubuntu3) and the bug was
fixed upstream for nautilus version 2.14.
** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu)
Upstream discussion claims the bug is fixed.
In current gutsy (1/10/07), the steps to reproduce causes the expected
behaviour, i.e. the second instance of firefox receives focus and is at the top.
