[Bug 1528928] Re: Specially crafted postscript file forces a segfault

I've pushed your patch with some fixlets from my side to http://cgit.freedesktop.org/poppler/poppler/log/?h=signatureHandling I have three questions we need to answer before i merge it to master: * Do we really want to make NSS mandatory? * Do we want to provide a way for frontends to give their own path to a nss database? * Do we want to first support other signatures like adbe.x509.rsa_sha1 ? [Bug 740506]
I've had look at the code (in poppler/ not glib/ i'll leave that to the glib/ experts) and have some minor and some major comments. Minor: * There's 3 use of malloc i could find, for completion i guess it's better if you use gmalloc * SigStatusStruct should be a C++ class Medium: * I'm not convinced getSigningTime should return a char *, i'd very much prefer it returning an integer and shifting the responsability to turn it into a string to upper layers, since allows for translations, etc. Major: * There's lots of repeated code (the loops searching for "Annot"+"Sig" some of these with more checks for nulls than others) and some functions that make no sense in PDFDoc like Object *getByteRange(int index); If you see in Form::Form we're already parsing "Fields" and creating FormFieldSignature for each "Sig" object. My suggestion is that you expand FormFieldSignature with your implementation. That also solves API issues like for for example getSignerName should not be in PDFDoc since you need to have called validateSignature before and then it returns the signer name for the signature of that index, so it should be part of a signature object, i.e. FormFieldSignature. Do you think it makes sense? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to poppler in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/740506 Title: verify digital signatures To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evince/+bug/740506/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 33288]
I just realized we never really followed up on the last two patches. My concern is that they change the pdftotext output. I though they where for a) speed b) text selection so i'd prefer if they did not change pdftotext output. I've checked a few files of the changed ones and the changes can be argued not to be for better or worse, but then again the problem is that 1 out of 3 files i have has a changed output in pdftotext and having 1600 files in the test suite it makes it impossible for me to go over them all and verify the changes are "not better nor worse". Is there any chance we get patches that don't influence pdftotext output or at least not such drastically? And yes, i know it's ages ago since you wrote the patches, sorry. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/33288 Title: Evince doesn't handle columns properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/poppler/+bug/33288/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1085526]
Nice work. Some small things that need fixing. the cmake way of using pkgconfig is very simple, see ./cmake/modules/FindGTK.cmake for example You need to free more Objects, every time you do a get object an object you have to free it, e.g. in countSignatures you need to free fields, f, type, obj1 The indentation is a bit broken, i know poppler indentation (2 soft spaces, 8 hard tabs) is a crazy, but at least it'd be cool if your own functions were consistent, in validateSignature you mix tabs and spaces. [Bug 1385882] Re: Unable to mount iPad with IOS 8
I confirm the same errors occur with iPhone4s and iOS 8.2, ubuntu 14.04. After installing the ppa for libimobiledevice 1.6, I manage to sometimes, inconsistently, be able to mount the phone and transfer files (e.g. pictures from the DCIM folder). The sequence that has worked (sometimes) is the following: 1. write sudo idevicepair pair to a terminal and push enter. Enter your password. The phone is not plugged yet so nothing happens. 2. push the up arrow to have the above command ready for execution. 3. make sure the phone is unlocked (that is, you can click on apps, etc.) 4. plug the phone 5. push enter quickly 6. Select Trust in the popup that shows in the phone. 7. Sometimes, you will get the phone mounted. Copy files. Make sure the phone doesn't lock up from lack of activity or the file transfer will be interrupted (happened at least once). So: brittle, but it can work. Would be lovely if this could be made robust. Hello, I'm terribly sorry but I can't reproduce the issue. So, I've deleted two hidden folders named thumbnails in my /home and now is all ok. It's for that reason that I've asked to close the bug and I'm not able to reproduce the situation.
