Brandon, I am working on something that should help to prevent issues
like this in the future. We could all donate money and get a patch if
needed, but then again only those lucky enough to know about launchpad
will be the ones to find it. Upstream may not even take it.
I am not sure how long it

I can't see anyone taking up this torch when a new Gnome and theme engine are
just round the corner.
Perhaps.. Should we need to bring this bug to the attention of the Gnome
developers ASAP?
To my mind, the importance (low) of this bug speaks volumes regarding
whether it will be fixed.
I do not think so. Sure, many would get the hint and eventually figure
it out, but many would be put-off just trying to figure out how to
resize, even if they were successful. By default in Ubuntu with Compiz
on you can also control+middle-click to resize. But one thing about

As Siegfried Gevatter first replied I don't think most users have a
problem with that. I have to say that has been shown to now be an issue
for many. This is a severe issue in that anyone hampered by it will be
hit early on in their experience, and have such a high degree of getting
turned off
My understanding is that everything should eventually use NOTIFY-OSD or
have the option... perhaps they are working on this already, but if you
have done some work it would be good to use it if possible...

@Marcus Carlson - I believe that resizing technique while helpful (what
I end up doing when having trouble myself) is specific to Compiz. I
guess those without good enough hardware would likely be running XFCE
instead of Gnome though.
@daniel - I agree, video tutorials could be helpful. Something
Maybe it contributes to some percieved issues, but the main issue for me is
that I have high resolution monitor combined with a high DPI mouse, while
trying to grab a 1 pixel wide border. My setup is for gaming (in Windows), but
I like linux too.

The ideal solution would indeed need to do this. I get this bug in Compiz, but
I feel it can affect anybody. Maybe the cursor can stick/jump to the border
after x seconds? Possibly with added special accessability benefit?

Either 3 pixels farther out, or 5 across, whichever style lends to better
habits. This should be tested in my opinion to minimize possible side
effects. I would be happy to test if needed.

I have to say this issue is a medium priority. It is a usability issue,
and will turn people away. It's the little things
I had this issue resolved with recent updates in the last week or two.
Are your systems fully up to date? Mehdi, are you still experiencing
this? The only issues I have now are occasional crashing which according
to bug reports/Ubuntu forums seems to be related to Evolution Google

Until Ubuntu Hardy pushed out the updates today, I was unable to get
Evolution to ask for my Google account password. I can read events but I
am still unable to edit them in Evolution.

Thanks Chris,
I wasn't sure how the bug process works, and didn't realize there was a
follow up until I checked my email. I am not sure what the difference
is, but what I ended up doing was adding Option AddARGBGLXVisuals
True to my xorg.conf directly. (I am knew to Linux.)
Again thanks, and I
