Have had the same bug with DarkRoom theme, but at the end it was a theme issue. For the reference, offending line in the DarkRoom file is: ... widget_class "*Mail*" style "murrine-panel" ... This line overwrites every widget with "Mail" in name, the evolution mail configuration too... BTW, I've downloaded New Wave 0.8.2 from here: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/New+Wave?content=87134 to check this bug and it was ok for me.
