[Bug 1782599] [NEW] Search field in "Open file" dialog loses focus after every character typed
Public bug reported: When we click in the magnifier icon next to the "Open" button in a (system provided) "Open File" dialog to search for some file by name, after each character typed, if there are any search results, the search field loses focus to the list view of the results. The correct behavior would be to maintain focus until we stopped typing or even manually changed focus. I've added a screencast of the problem as an attachment. PS: I have no idea if this dialog is provided by nautilus, so I'm not marking it here. Also, I tried using xprop to get the correct package, but it only reports the application using it, not the one providing. --- $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Release:18.04 ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Screencast of the behavior I get" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1782599/+attachment/5165321/+files/Grava%C3%A7%C3%A3o%20de%20tela%20de%2019-07-2018%2012%3A32%3A02.webm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1782599 Title: Search field in "Open file" dialog loses focus after every character typed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1782599/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
