It all depends on how you format it. If there is just a domain, not
ending in a backslash, it usually works fine, but if there is a
backslash, or a page, it includes too many characters. I think that, by
default, it should not include any punctuation on the end of the URL. I
guess a URL may be

In a plain-text email, type a url in parenthesis (without spaces), such
as (http://google.com). Or ending in a period, such as Go to
http://google.com.; It seems that a space is the only thing that can
mark the end of a URL.

In Python, I can have a string break over multiple lines by using the
backslash character:

The syntax highlighting does not pick this up.

Importance:
This still exists, and is very annoying. IMO, it's unacceptable to be
typing something and have the focus stolen so that you have to refocus
the window you were working on.
