The key factor seems to be that Google was set as my default address
book. Things are behaving much better when I leave that option turned
off.

During the above process, I had the option selected under the address
book's properties to be available to work offline. If I turn that off,
and restart Evolution, the new contact finally appears, but as the only
entry in the address book. The rest of my address book is gone from

Hmm, I guess the link does work, I just didn't realize that their was a
strong of extra characters after the space. I still cannot figure out
why I am getting these error messages or what those extra characters are
there for, but maybe Evolution isn't doing anything wrong...

I set up my GMail account in Evolution following the instructions in
Ubuntu Documentation
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UsingGmailWithEvolution). The mail is
received fine, but outgoing messages are not sent and the following
error pops up.
Also, I don't believe this ever came up under Karmic, only after I
upgraded to Lucid, but I could be wrong.

I do not have to unplug the cable to get the error message, it happens
immediately when I click "Safely Remove Drive".

I have a regular IDE hard drive that I use as external storage,
connecting it by a USB to IDE cable. It basically behaves the way it
should except for an error message when I remove it. I right-click the
USB/"New Drive" icon on my deskt
I would disagree with #4 because if a user can control the order that
the tasks are displayed and and scroll down if they want to, I don't
think there is any reason to completely hide tasks. Although that would
be a nice option to have as well.
