[Bug 691360] Re: gnome-keyring-daemon does not remember GPG passphrase

I can confirm this (while I am only using GNOME and not KDE). Gnome-
keyring should remember passphrase.

[Bug 319281] Re: Missing output devices in sound preferences dialog

2009-05-12 Thread Christian Roessner
I use the latest Jaunty versions. Also added proposed and backports
repos.

Not having the digital output results in having totem _not_ playing
AC3-files over S/PDIF. Instead I only get the 6 channel analog surround
sound.

Concerning the images, I let them on my server. When I find the time, I
will upload them here.

My guess is that pulseaudio needs some workaround/trick to recognize the
digital output. Does it need an asoundrc file? I do not have one, yet.
Just the defaults from the distribution.

So, right after posting this, I rebooted the machine. After that I did
use tty1 to login as croessner. I _could_ login to my machine.

After that I used gdm to login into Gnome, opened a terminal and it
produced the given bug. So there really seems to be something inside the
Gnome-environment that causes problems.

[Bug 328679] [NEW] keyboard bindings partially ignored

2009-02-12 Thread Christian Roessner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I can not use Alt+F2 anymore to get the Run command dialog box. Even
my favorite key which normally opened a gnome terminal does not work
anymore (a bookmark manager appears, if I am pressing that key).

Some update must have killed this functionality. Checking with xev, I
can see that the keys are recognized. The settings are ok in the gnome-
keyboard-properties. So I do not know, what is going on here :-)

I tested with the generic keyboard (Doing a reset to defaults) as well
as selecting evdev driven keyboard. Does not change things.

2009-01-25 Thread Christian Roessner
The fix done in gnome-volume-control-applet.desktop and as described in
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=568320 does _not_ fix the
problem that the applet does not appear in the panel. Maybe my machine

So, the applet appears in the panel and I can use it.

- It seems that the applet gets started to early in the session.
- And the preferences panel in the output tab only lists the Intel-HDA Analog
and not the Digital output. But that´s maybe another bug. I have to use
alsamixer to get the sound routed over S/PDIF. Would be nice to see a fix here
:-)

[Bug 318310] Re: [jaunty] mixer_applet2 freezes session

2009-01-19 Thread Christian Roessner
Indeed this bug report descibes my situation. I followed the authors
idea of commenting out the specified line. I got the following in
.xsession-errors:

** (gnome-volume-control-applet:5187): WARNING **: Connection failed
N: main.c: Called SUID root and real-time and/or high-priority scheduling was
requested in the configuration. However, we lack the necessary privileges:
N: main.c: We are not in group 'pulse-rt', PolicyKit refuse to grant us the
requested privileges and we have no increase RLIMIT_NICE/RLIMIT_RTPRIO resource
limits.
N: main.c: For enabling real-time/high-priority scheduling please acquire the
appropriate PolicyKit privileges, or become a member of 'pulse-rt', or increase
the RLIMIT_NICE/RLIMIT_RTPRIO resource limits for this user.

So I decided to add the user to pulse-rt. If this is, what you want,
then a fix is simple, else maybe PolicyKit needs changes, but I am quiet
new to PolicyKit and have not used the manger too much, yet :-) After
logging in again with new group settings, the mixer is doing fine. No
more freezes. So the main bug report is closeable in my opinion.

Only thing that is left over is the digital output option in the output
tab. Do you want me to open a new bug report on this topic? I guess so
:-)

But unfortunately I have to report this morning that the fix provided in

[Bug 295460] [NEW] Firefox forces the NetworkManager applet to reconnect the network

2008-11-08 Thread Christian Roessner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer

Hi,

it is a very strange behavior, but when surfing with firefox ( Intrepid-
64bit ) for example to www.heute.de and clicking on play in the embbeded
video, suddenly the network gets disconnected and reconnected.

I can reproduce this bug, when ever I retry it.

See the attached picture for details ( URL and which applet ).

I also looked with tail -f at .xsession-errors andcopied the relevant
part to a second file.

I guess, there might be more examples for this bug, but currently I only
can show you this one.

Kind regards
Christian

[Bug 189574] Re: totem-gstreamer crashed with SIGSEGV in g_object_set_valist()

Same problem here while playing m4p-audio files. When trying to skip a
track, going to the next one, totem suddenly crashed.

[Bug 235698] Re: gvfs-fuse-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in pthread_mutex_lock()

2008-07-11 Thread Christian Roessner
I have this problem, too, since updating last night hardy-proposed.
After gdm login, apport told me about the crash.

Some days ago, I played with intrepid and go that same error. Because of
many problems, I reinstalled hardy in 64 bit. I did not have this bug
anymore. I think that something has changed in the code from version
0.2.4-0ubuntu1 to 0.2.5-0ubuntu1 in gvfs-fuse.

Does this package belong to GNOME 2.22.3?

[Bug 243478] [NEW] [intrepid] gdm segfault in libglib-2.0.so.0.1702.0

[Bug 243478] Re: [intrepid] gdm segfault in libglib-2.0.so.0.1702.0

2008-06-27 Thread Christian Roessner
Sorry for re-opening it, but also apport is enabled, there was no crash
report created. So I do not have more information.

I can manually gather required information, if yu just tell me, what you
need.

ls -la /var/crash/
insgesamt 40
drwxrwxrwt 2 root root 4096 2008-06-24 10:07 .
drwxr-xr-x 19 root root 4096 2008-05-15 17:36 ..
-rw--- 1 croessner croessner 30458 2008-06-25 09:41
_usr_lib_glipper_glipper.1000.crash

The glipper bug already is known since a long ime, so I do not report
that one, but for the given report, I can not provide a crash-report-
file

[Bug 23281] Re: Selecting mozilla-thunderbird as the preferred mail app still launches evolution

2007-09-11 Thread Christian Roessner
Hi,

I am not quiet sure concerning the patches. I first replaced the
nautilus-sendto-0.7 patch with nautilus-sendto-0.12-thunderbird.patch
and the package built fine. And the thunderbird-bug seems to befixed.

But trying nautilus-sendto-0.12-thunderbird-2.patch, I can not build the
package.

Regards
Christian
