I can confirm this bug on 14.04, and that a reboot indeed fixes the
problem. How does this bug not get more priority, it makes empathy
pretty unusable?

After upgrading to 14.04, I also started experiencing this problem (no way to
grant authorization). It worked fine before that, on 13.10.
Maybe this should be reported against the online-accounts package?

I also was hit by this. Seems empathy creates multiple password entries in the
keychain.

test), but only for calling from gedit. No way to use it with any other
