[Bug 1980933] [NEW] Blanked screen doesn't wake up after put into powersave

2022-07-07 Thread Dani Llewellyn
Public bug reported:

This is *similar* to #1968040 but I'm raising it as a separate issue as
the workarounds there do not work for my system suggesting that this is
indeed a separate bug.

When allowing the system to blank the screen, it becomes impossible to
awaken the screen some unknown length of time after DPMS poweroff is
triggered. Neither the keyboard nor the mouse can be used to trigger the
screens to power back on again once powered down by DPMS.

My system is a custom-build desktop PC with a discrete AMD 6600XT GPU
and two external 4k monitors.

I have tried the workarounds in the above bug and neither worked. Namely
pressing ctrl+alt+f1 (nor any other f-keys in combo with ctrl+alt) does
not bring the monitors back to life, and adding
MUTTER_DEBUG_ENABLE_ATOMIC_KMS=0 to /etc/environment does not change the
behaviour in any way.

The system is still responsive to the network and I can SSH into the box
to investigate when in this scenario.

[Bug 1266496] Re: extra "fi" in file

2021-08-06 Thread Dani Llewellyn
This issue is for Trusty Tahr, which ended mainstream support in 2019
and exits ESM in 2022. I vote we close this issue as WONTFIX for those
distributions (I don't have permission to set WONTFIX status on this
issue).

Is this still relevant on any currently-supported releases of Ubuntu?

[Bug 665839] Re: gnome-icon-theme package cannot configure in maverick

2010-10-24 Thread Dani Hernande
I think is something wrong in sed (sed expression in post-installation
script):

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sed/+bug/447866

The issue makes sed not working well with -s expressions
It looks can be solved changing LANG settings:

export LANG=C

(mine was LANG=es_ES.utf8 when errors happened).

Now package configures well.

[Bug 39413] Re: ubuntu doesn't notice when running on battery

2008-04-02 Thread Dani Alonso
I'm in hardy. The battery is not recognized at all:

With ac plug:

acpi -V:

 Thermal 1: ok, 27.0 degrees C
 Thermal 2: ok, 27.0 degrees C
  AC Adapter 1: on-line

Without it, running on batteries:

acpi -V:

 Thermal 1: ok, 27.0 degrees C
 Thermal 2: ok, 27.0 degrees C
  AC Adapter 1: off-line

Is this a kernel or gnome-power-manager fault?

[Bug 57872] Re: regression: pressing power button no longer brings up logout dialog

2008-03-05 Thread Dani Alonso
Following my previous comment, I have downloaded the source package for
gnome-power-manager, compiled with --enable-debug=yes.

Now, when I press the power button it outputs the following:

(gnome-power-manager:3857): GnomeUI-CRITICAL **:
gnome_client_request_save: assertion `client != NULL' failed

So it seems that the culprit is that gnome_master_client () is returning
NULL.

One more comment. From what I understand by reading the gnome developer

gnome_program_init (), but from the Changelog you can read that this
call was dropped on 2007-08-03.

The interesting thing is that if I change to anything different, for

really receiving the button press, but someway it doesn't know how to
call the gnome logout dialog.

[Bug 57872] Re: regression: pressing power button no longer brings up logout dialog

2008-03-04 Thread Dani Alonso
May it be that gnome-power-manager is not connected to the session
manager so the gnome_master_client() call in the following code of gpm-
manager.c fails:

gnome_client_request_save (gnome_master_client (),
   GNOME_SAVE_GLOBAL,
   TRUE, GNOME_INTERACT_ANY, FALSE,
TRUE);

Some time ago, I opened another bug (188174) related to some CLI
commands related to session management not working in my system. For
example, gnome-session-remove --list stalls without giving any output.
Could it have any relationship with this bug? Or may they be two
different simptoms of the very same problem?

[Bug 195580] [NEW] nautilus-sendto always uses first entry in the combo box

2008-02-25 Thread Dani Alonso
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus-sendto

Detected in hardy with last available version (0.13.2-0ubuntu1)

Please follow this steps in order to reproduce:

1. Select a file from a windows
2. Choose send to... from context menu
3. Select send as e-mail with evolution
4. Type any text in order to search among evolution contacts. In order to
reproduce the bug you need to type a text returning more than one entry in the
selection combo box.
5. Select any entry but the first one, the send to text field is going to
default to the first entry with independence of the entry selected by the user
in teh combo.
6. Try to type the full email, different from the first entry: no way, the
evolution window is going to default to the first entry in the combo.

I expect two things:

1. The send to text entry should track the selection in the combo box.
2. The evolution window should inherit the contact previousy selected.

[Bug 188735] Re: [hardy] nautilus shows strange characters

2008-02-04 Thread Dani Alonso
Yes of course. This bug is related to bug 188734.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Insert a protected memory-card in a card reader. In my case it was a SD card
in my laptop's internal reader. The card should be locked in order to not allow
deletion of files.
2) Browse the contents of the card from a natilus window.
3) Try to move any file (DEL key) to the trash.

Nautilus will then warn against moving to the trash with the dialog
shown in the attached screenshot.

[Bug 188734] [NEW] hardy: weird behaviour in nautilus when trying to delete a file from a protected removable SD card

2008-02-03 Thread Dani Alonso
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

This is in hardy updated to last nautilus version.

Usually, if i insert a SD card in my laptop's internal card reader and
try to delete any file, nautilus moves it silently to the trascan.

However, If by error the inserted card is protected, nautilus warns
against it displaying that the file cannot be moved to the trash.
Obvious because a move action involves a delete action and the card is
protected son no delete is possible.

Anyway the message dialog has to problems, the first one being that it
show two buttons asking to the user if the file should be deleted, or
all selected files in protected media should be deleted. Obviously, if
the move to trash action could not be done because of the protection,
the deletion is also being impossible to do.

Sorry but I can't install the debug version of gnome-session package
because it's not updated to the actual version:

What should I do?

[Bug 188171] [NEW] user keyboard layout not loaded

2008-02-01 Thread Dani Alonso
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

Every time I log into gnome, the keyboard layout defaults to the english
one, though last session I selected an spanish one.

I have to go to the keyboard selection panel, where the spanish one is
the only one listed (see screenshot 1), add a new spanish one (see
screenshot 3), then the keyboard begins to work as it should and I can
delete the recently created layout.

Please look also to the screenshot 2, where you can see that it is
loaded empty at first, with some grey shadows where the keyboard layout
picture should be shown.

[Bug 185964] [NEW] gvs-enabled version removable devices regressions

2008-01-25 Thread Dani Alonso
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Some regressions when dealing with removable drives:

1) When inserting the drive it opens not one but two windows showing the
contents. Then gnome-mount crashes.

2) The media name is not matching the mount name I gave to the the
removable drive. For example if I plug my external usb drive, the Places
menu shows Mediaplayer for the drive as I named it, but the nautilus
icon in the desktop and everywhere is showing a simple name 250.1 GB
Media.

3) The properties window does not have anymore a tab for manually
changing the name of the mount point.

Re: [Bug 175194] Re: view - load images does not work

2007-12-10 Thread Dani Sardà i Lizaran
Hi Basilio,

It looks like images are displayed correctly for some messages. Others
do not.

Please find attached two messages that do not load images (either
totally or partially). Both include some java-script. And they fail to
load images whatever the settings (sorry for having misled you)

To discard they were not broken links, I checked with Thunderbird, with
no problems.

[Bug 175194] view - load images does not work

2007-12-09 Thread Dani Sardà i Lizaran
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Probably related to Bug #42597, but maybe more generic...

When you receieve a message with linked images, there is no way to view
them apart from switching temporarily to 'Always Load Images Off the
Net'. Once the images of the previewed message are cached, you can
switch back to 'Never Load Imags Off the Net'.

Selecting 'View - Load Images' or pressing Ctrl+I (either in the
preview panel or in the message itself) does not seem to have any
effect.

[Bug 91439] spellcheck doesn't work in AbiWord

2007-03-11 Thread U. Dani
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: abiword

I boot from the Xubuntu Feisty live CD, started up AbiWord from the Xfce
menu and write some random characters. The spellcheck icon is inactive,
and in the menu it's also inactive (Tools - Check spelling). When I hit
F7 is says, that The spelling check is complete. (I'm sure that the
words in the document aren't correct.) The same problem if I open a
previously saved document.

[Bug 34247] Re: Trash always empty.

2006-05-13 Thread Dani Alonso
Same beahaviour hear. Surely related to usb storage devices, as many
people is reporting.

I have found the following in the nautilus-internals documento hold in
gnome cvs:

7.6 Trash
Nautilus uses the gnome-vfs trash system. It works by creating a trash
directory for each
mount point, when it can. The directory is called .Trash-username and stored in
the top
directory of the mount. For files on the same device as the user homedir
$HOME/.Trash is
used instead.

I believe that the trash gnome vfs code doesn't has a problem. I think
the problem is in the trash applet code, as not honouring the several
trash paths available in the system.
