[Bug 1471845] [NEW] Saving as draft moves the cursor at the top
Public bug reported: As I write an email I use File, Save as Draft (CTRL+S) from time to time. But then the cursor goes at the top of the text. Instead it should stay at the current position. Before version 3.2 I have not seen this effect, but in 3.10 it is still there. I have reported this upstream: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=750139. Upstream says that Evolution 3.10 is very old and that this bug won't be fixed in this version. The bug is fixed in 3.16. Could you please fix this himself? Because Ubuntu 14.04 is LTS and it contains this old Evolution 3.10. [Bug 1320503] Re: pdftops converts some documents as a picture
One can switch the renderer from pdftops to gs with lpadmin -o pdftops- renderer-default=gs. The output looks a bit different, but ghostscript make the same fault as pdftops: somtimes the output is a picture. I have tried it on Ubuntu 14.04. The problem still exists here. This is unusable. Printers that do not support postscript are better supported today. Upstream Bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=730467. Sometimes I ask me why I report bugs to Ubuntu, if I have to report the bug to upstream also. [Bug 1320503] [NEW] pdftops converts some documents as a picture
Public bug reported: On some PDF documents pdftops converts some or all pages to pictures with a low resolution. But it should not convert the text into a picture. The output of the postscript file differs extremeley from the original PDF file. And this postscript file is sent to the printer if the printer understands postscript. I detected this problem with a postscript printer. But using pdftops on the command line with the same PDF gives the same result in the PS file as printed. Taking the temporary file from /var/spool/cups/tmp it shows me the same. Therefore it is not a problem with the postscript printer, instead it ist in pdftops. Attached a PDF file and the resulting PS file using pdftops. Pages 1 and 2 are pictures, pages 3 to 5 are OK, page 6 is a picture. Perhaps this is the cause of the difference in the file size. Note if I use pdftocairo this problem does not exist. But I can't change cups to use pdftocairo instead of pdftops. lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS Release:12.04 apt-cache policy poppler-utils poppler-utils: Installiert: 0.18.4-1ubuntu3.1 Kandidat:0.18.4-1ubuntu3.1 Versionstabelle: *** 0.18.4-1ubuntu3.1 0 500 http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main amd64 Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-security/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 0.18.4-1ubuntu2 0 500 http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages ** Affects: poppler (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: the original PDF file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1320503/+attachment/4114476/+files/Konfiguration%20Updates.pdf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to poppler in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1320503 Title: pdftops converts some documents as a picture To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/poppler/+bug/1320503/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1320540] [NEW] Print options should be saved per printer across sessions
Public bug reported: As I can see, evince saves the print options between sessions regardless of the printer. I have made two queues for the same printer to avoid unneccessary color prints and to easier handle different paper in different trays. If I change the printer in the GTK print dialog from evince the options of the previously choosen printer still are active, makes my two queues needless. If I print a file with the option Handout 2 pages on 1 under Layout, the preview shows a normal output, that contains 1 page on 1.
