I have a possible related problem with Ubuntu-mate 20.04. I adjusted my
mouse pointer size (Dell Inspiron 7995 with Nvidia GTX 960M graphics)
the screen went black mouse pointer frozen, 10 seconds later the login
screen appears. If I log back in again the screen is black and I'm stuck
in an
Affected me, clean install of Ubuntu-mate 18.04.1 LTS. Brasero would
fail to burn Audio CD's.

This is a ridiculous bug to have in not one but two different versions

Sorry not a bug, further investigation found NFS support was missing,
installed nfs-kernal-server package and I can now map my NAS network
shares. Not sure if I should be able to browse network shares or not
using Files/Nautilus.

Just upgraded from Karmic to Lucid. Happened on first reboot, this is
the 2nd time on the 3rd reboot. Gnome Desktop didn't come up on the 2nd
reboot, had to do a recovery repair.
