[Bug 357299] Re: Panel crashes and restarts over and over again
The panel never crashed again until today. I don't know what resolved this but I guess between all these updates there might be one which fixed that. I'll close this. If it should become an issue again, I'll come back to this. ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- Panel crashes and restarts over and over again https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357299 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 357299] [NEW] Panel crashes and restarts over and over again
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Today the panel started to bug me. It all began with a notice that indicator-applet had crashed and that I should report a bug. Because I had done nothing which seems to have something to do with the indicator-applet, I just ignored it because I wouldn't have known what to write anyway. The panel then keeped crashing (or whatever, I just know for sure that it disappeared), and immediately being restarted thereafter, but only to crash a second later. This cycle goes on without an end. I am able to switch to a tty and kill the panel which stops that cycle. I then create a starter to start a terminal (I found no other means to start a program without the panel, Alt+F2 doesn't work anymore) and restart gnome-panel, and then it stays there for a while. But after some time, it starts this crashing-restarting behavior again (but now without a noice that anything crashed), a X restart didn't help. Please tell me which information I should provide to help finding the fault and resolving that issue. [Bug 345032] Re: SoundConverter fails on batch conversion (SPC to MP3)
Well, if the files are REALLY broken, they are broken in a weird way, because SoundConverter can handle every single file on its own without crashing, and Totem and some player called Audio Overload can play them too. Yes, that should be it. I've tried soundconverter --debug --jobs 1 and it doesn't crash anymore. Thank you so far for this workaround. I'm attaching the console output. (By the way: I've also tried the command you mentioned above. [Bug 288446] Re: Cannot do odd roots of negative numbers.
This bug is rather severe in my opinion and I can confirm this behavior. In addition, this could be fixed rather easily if one would introduce an extra button/function to take the n-th root of a number and if the argument should be negative it just checks whether the root is odd or not. That button was missing anyway since it exists on any scientific calculator. For these two reasons I am reopening the bug. ** Changed in: gcalctool (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New -- Cannot do odd roots of negative numbers. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288446 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gcalctool in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I can confirm this bug, too. In addition, I reported this bug on the GNOME bugzilla tracker as requested. [Bug 228713] Re: Rhythmbox lyrics window doesn't allow middle-click c p
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 34629 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/34629 Yes, I do, but I'm now doubting that the trouble is a problem just of Rhythmbox (or none at all, it depends on how you take it) and I know now why you had problems to reproduce my problem. Actually, the Edit mode and Standard mode switching has nothing to do with it. When I select the text, I sometimes hit Backspace or Del to simulate the Cut command. I expected the text to be copied to a certain buffer where it would be stored. I'm used to it, because I worked a longer time with KDE and its Klipper app. But now I see that only when the text stays there selected and untouched, the text will be pasted with the middle click. So, if you want to put the report to invalid, please tell me if the text yanking feature could be improved that it works similar to Ctrl-C or Ctrl-X and whether I should open a feature request then. Sorry for the trouble I caused when I thought that it was just a Rhythmbox issue. :) -- Rhythmbox lyrics window doesn't allow middle-click c p https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228713 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 228644] [NEW] Losing sound in Gnobots could scare younger children
Public bug reported: When losing a game of gnobots2 (Version 2.22.1.1) the sound of a sharp Aieee! is heard, as if the shouter was in horror. I think this could scare younger children because of the sharp long cry. In my opinion, the games in the default installation of Ubuntu should be playable at every age, and this cry is needlessly frightening. While Robot's gameplay is basically non-violent, I think this sound should be replaced with a more comical and harmlass one to avoid kids being scared. ** Affects: gnome-games (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Losing sound in Gnobots could scare younger children https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228644 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-games in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 228713] [NEW] Rhythmbox lyrics window doesn't allow middle-click c p
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I noticed that the Rhythmbox lyrics window doesn't allow middle-click copy paste. CP via Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V works fine though. Steps to reproduce: 1. Right-click on any song and select Properties 2. In the opening window, go to the lyrics tab 3. Click edit to enter the editing mode, select some text in the lyrics field, and paste it into the lyrics field with your middle mouse button. What I expect to happen: The text which I selected should appear where I clicked since it is conventional in other applications as well and the editing mode is selected. What actually happens: The text doesn't appear in the lyrics window. When I middle click in other apps (for example gedit), pasting works though. Pasting text copied from the other app into the lyrics field works too (sometimes, note below). While I'm writing this and still playing around with the pasting, I noticed that SOMETIMES the pasting into the lyrics field doesn't work if I take text from the other app, but I couldn't reproduce when it exactly doesn't work. ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Rhythmbox lyrics window doesn't allow middle-click c p https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228713 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 228713] Re: Rhythmbox lyrics window doesn't allow middle-click c p
Okay, I tested with another (just recently created) test user. It behaves exactly the same. So did Compiz. But I tested Compiz two hours ago, so I'm not sure anymore and I'm going to double check it to be sure. But I think I am able to reproduce, when the pasting to other apps works and when not. If you select the text in gedit and THEN activate the Edit mode, the pasting DOESN'T WORK. If you select the text in gedit in when the lyrics window is in edit mode, pasting WORKS. If you select the text in the lyrics window, pasting into gedit WORKS, no matter whether in edit mode or not. I'm still investigating if there are certain circumstances under which copying and pasting works in the lyrics window. I'll test this and check Compiz and will report that. -- Rhythmbox lyrics window doesn't allow middle-click c p https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228713 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 228713] Re: Rhythmbox lyrics window doesn't allow middle-click c p
I logged into the test user account mentioned above, pressed Alt-F2, so that I could type a command and I typed metacity --replace to disable Compiz. If it wasn't right, tell me. Now pasting works even in the case mentioned above, where selecting text in gedit with normal mode and then switching the lyrics window to edit mode didn't work. I also discovered on the test user account that when you restart compiz using the compiz command, pasting between apps and lyrics window still works. If I log off with the test user and log on again, everything is back to normal with the test results mentioned above. And I don't know if it matters, but when clicking the Save button, for the fraction of a second there appears the text Nach Liedtexten suchen... (German for Searching for lyrics) and then the old text is there. -- Rhythmbox lyrics window doesn't allow middle-click c p https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228713 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
