[Bug 124315] Re: Remember+restore window position of applications if WM_WINDOW_ROLE set

2010-12-19 Thread Doug Holton
I don't think this should be limited to just cases where WM_WINDOW_ROLE
is set. As someone else commented, virtually no applications have
WM_WINDOW_ROLE set, and so only remembering window positions for apps
that do set it would not really address the problem.

Also, from the docs that someone linked to on how to set the role:
http://www.pygtk.org/docs/pygtk/class-gtkwindow.html#method-gtkwindow--set-role
It says: If a window already has a unique title, you don't need to set the
role, since the WM can use the title to identify the window when restoring the
session.

So I'll adjust the title of this feature request to check for
WM_WINDOW_ROLE or a window title.

** Summary changed:

- Remember+restore window position of applications if WM_WINDOW_ROLE set
+ Remember+restore window position of applications with WM_WINDOW_ROLE or
window title set

[Bug 124315] Re: remember window position of applications

2009-06-24 Thread Doug Holton
Over a hundred people have voted for this feature over on the ubuntu brainstorm
site:
http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/1442/
It should at least be kept an open issue I think.

[Bug 152975] Re: drag url to folder: drag and drop is not supported

2009-06-16 Thread Doug Holton
Doesn't seem to have anything to do with the #49348 feature request. I'm
reporting a real bug.
URL shortcuts are broken. They are treated like pseudo-broken-folders instead
of files (like they are).

[Bug 137247] Re: libpam-keyring broken on autologins

2009-04-24 Thread Doug Holton
Thanks Collin, that worked for me (in Jaunty Ubuntu Netbook Remix).

I have an administrator user (me) and a non-administrator user (my kid).
I went to administration-Login window and set my kid's account to auto-login.

Then I right clicked the wireless applet, went to 'edit connections',
the wireless tab, and checked the available to all users for our
wireless connection. Rebooted and it logged in his account and wireless
was already connected. No password prompts.

Thanks!
