I literally waited an HOUR to get to my Camera directory on my Samsung
S7 (Android 9) and FINALLY got to the files. I did not have any
parenthesis error as mentioned above.
HOWEVER, this was EXTREMELY slow... wow. Just to do file copies. still
took a while to pull 2Gb of pics and vids. But the
i cant get sound either on movie player

I am using the program to create a data DVD. After putting all the files
for the burning and click the button to start the process, the programs
pops up dialog showing that it's calculating size (I don't know what
it's doing). And it just stays

I reported [Bug 460059] Re: .wmv files not playing , which was
identified as a duplicate of this, and my symptoms were reproducible. It
occurred whenever I opened any of my .wmv files in totem. They had been
created in Windows Vista splitting a video from a jvc camcorder into
.wmv files.

Further to above comment, I edited one of the .wmv files in windows live
movie maker on windows 7, saved it as a new .wmv file, then tried
playing the file in totem on ubuntu 9.10 rc and it played correctly,
with video and sound in sync. The original .wmv files (created via
windows movie maker

ubuntu 9.10 rc 32bit Totem Movie Player 2.28.1 GStreamer 0.10.25 to play
an avi from hard disk it played video and audio in sync first time, but
when replayed the audio played after the end of the video. The symptoms
were reproducible.

Same here.
Weirdly enough, if I run gdmsetup afterward, and selected the same
option (Human List theme) for the second time, gdm will behave properly.

I still have the same problem in Hardy.
Another workaround (other than `killall gnome-panel` and/or `compiz --replace`)
is:
1. Right-click on panel
2. Choose Properties
3. Toggle Orientation (e.g., if it's set to Bottom, choose Top (let
instant apply happen), and choose Bottom again).

I tried an .avi so I installed the packages suggested by Totem.
Playing the files gives a black screen in a window. The audio plays fine.
Switching to fullscreen works (normal video).
Switching back kinda works, but the app has trouble resizing.
