Ok, I can reliable reproduce this issue.
The attached empty file printed 60 times the first time I tried to print it.
The second time it resulted in 160 copies beeing printed.
I will not have access to my printer for the next week.

Cannot
I tried to print your file with evince on my 12.04 installation and had
no problems.
Is this an evince problem? I think cups, cups-filters, or cairo might be
involved as well.
Can you print it to PDF? Which printers are you using? Which CUPS
drivers do they use?

The empathy main menu has check marks for menu actions which should not
have them.
Moreover, the one in front of Contacts and Rooms vanishes when moving
the mouse over it from the bottom ...

This option seems to have moved to the settings dialog. Where on the
first tab one can set the offline accounts to appear.
