2009-03-18 Thread FredBezies
To answer to your questions.

1) I used sudo aptitude update and then sudo aptitude safe-upgrade.
Brasero and libbrasero were not upgraded.

2) I expected an upgrade.

3) I encountered a conflict with nautilus-cd-burner. I removed it, and
then installed using dpkg brasero and libbrasero.

[Bug 343354] Re: cpufreq applet selects wrong governor

2009-03-17 Thread FredBezies
From what I understand, it looks like an ubuntu bug :

cpufreq-applet doesn't set anything on startup, it only changes freq/governor
on user's request. If the governor is set to performance on startup is because
the kernel has been compiled with the performance governor as the default one,
or because another script is changing it, but not the cpufreq-applet.

Indeed. On intrepid and hardy, governor was set by default on on
demand which is more CPU friendly.

And it seems I'm not the only one which disagree perfomance setting to
be on by default (see comment #0 of this bug).

[Bug 344416] [NEW] Cannot install version libbrasero-media0_2.26.0 because of nautilus-cd-burner already installed !

When I tried to install it by hand, I got a conflict error message
related to nautilus-cd-burner. I had to remove nautilus-cd-burner and

[Bug 147943] Re: [MASTER] broken initial stacking (was: compiz hides quick loading windows at login)

2007-10-10 Thread FredBezies
I've used the workaround in comment #2 adding in gnome session compiz
--replace at the start. Anyway, it is strange that only one person or
two see the bug fixed. Maybe because compiz wasn't modified using
CompizConfig manager tool ?

Just guessing of course.

[Bug 129029] Re: [Gutsy Tribe-5] No Sound on Login Screen or during Login

2007-10-09 Thread FredBezies
This is weird, but gnome panel version 1:2.20.0.1-0ubuntu6 seems to cure
the bug.

I applied the update, close gnome and restart it. When new session was
opened both panel are shown flawlessly. Maybe somebody who applied this
patch and restart the computer can confirm what I am seeing ?

[Bug 150547] no sound on logout - followup of bug 129029

2007-10-08 Thread FredBezies
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

As mentioned in title, it is the followup of bug 129029.

Since this one was nearly fixed, I only miss logout sound on my gutsy
up-to-date.

Sorry if it is a duplicate of 129029, but a comment said that logout
sound is managed by gnome-session.

Same version : 1:2.20.0-0ubuntu5 / AMD64.

But the bug is only showing when you delete a 0 byte file.

Step to reproduce :

in a console, type : touch file-to-delete

In Nautilus : try to delete the file = bip !

Anyway, shutdown sound is not played too.
