[Bug 190848] Re: font in terminal does not resemble font in preview
You shouldn't have to reboot, closing all terminals and open a new one works for me. Now I have three configurations in Hardy for fonts: 1. /etc/fonts/conf.d 2. /usr/bin/gnome-appearance-properties 3. ~/.fonts.conf All gnome fonts except the terminal are controlled by 2., gnome-terminal fonts are only controlled by 3.! I think there are two things that should be done: a) Cleanup /etc/fonts/conf.d: Why is it set to antialias, hinting medium, no-sub-pixel? b) Unify configs: Why does above directory exist if appearance is controlled by gnome-appearance-properties? c) Why doesn't gnome-terminal respect none of settings 1. and 2.? It is _really_ simple: Try to open an application from the gnome panel with the keyboard. Don't use your mouse. Don't use the arrow keys of your keyboard. It is not possible. [Bug 121243] Re: Keyboard accelerators are incoherent
When Anwendungen (Applications) is selected the menu is shown. With keyboard accelerators. But you can't use them. This _is_ a bug. And notice that going to Orte (Places) is possible by pressing O. But then the first item in the Orte menu is selected and you can't go to Anwendungen or System anymore. So sometimes the first item in the categories is selected and sometimes not. My version of Ubuntu is Feisty Fawn, german localization. 1. Selecting Anwendungen (Applications), Orte (Places) or System with the mouse or my personal keyboard accelerator: Not possible to jump to a category by pressing b for Büro or g for Grafik. 2. Selecting Anwendungen it is possible to go down with the mouse or arrow key to Büro, then the g or b accelerator is working 3. Say you have only one category with accelerator key s; after pressing s the focus is correctly on the first item of the next subcategory. 4. Say you have two categories with accelerator key s; it is possible to jump from one to the other with s but there is no way of going to the subcategory. This should be possible with Enter 5. Say you are in a subcategory and want to go back one step in the hierarchy (from Gimp to Graphics). This should be possible with Esc but currently the whole menu disappears. -- Keyboard accelerators are incoherent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121243 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 121243] Keyboard accelerators are incoherent
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel I am a heavy keyboard user and want to open for example firefox only by pushing my keyboard. I configured my Ubuntu to show the panel menu when I push the Windows button. Then I can go down the list with the arrow buttons and enter to open firefox. But what I wanted to do after I can see the panel is push the i button to jump to Internet, then push the f button for Firefox and enter to open it. But those accelerators sometimes work and sometimes not. What works is navigating with the arrow buttons to the Internet menu, pressing T jumps between Terminal-Server-Client and Thunderbird. This is good. What doesn't work is opening the gnome panel and jumping directly to the Internet menu. A second thing is that if the Firefox Starter in the Internet menu is highlighted it is not possible to jump back to the main panel to select the Graphics panel and Gimp for example. Now it kills the whole menu. As a summary, I want to be able to travel through the whole gnome panel tree only with character accelerators and escape. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Keyboard accelerators are incoherent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121243 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
