[Bug 862813] Re: Power Managment settings are being ignored

2011-10-06 Thread Gremlyn1
I now seem to be unable to prevent the computer from turning the monitor
off after idle... at least it stays awake when I want it to I suppose,
but it does make watching movies difficult :(

Try setting the screen turn-off to 'Never' and then stop moving the
mouse. For me, it would immediately start to go dim as though I had it
set to 0 sec instead of Never.

I did the same thing Jayson, and everything stuck except not locking the
screen after it turns off.

Or if you rely on your HTPC from not suspending while 'inactive'! ;)
Thanks for marking my report as a duplicate, not sure how I missed this
one.

[Bug 863382] [NEW] System suspends after an hour of idle even though set 'Don't suspend' (11.10-b2)

2011-09-30 Thread Gremlyn1
Public bug reported:

Running Ubuntu 11.10-beta2 on a freshly built Intel Pentium Sandy Bridge
system. The system suspends itself after an hour even though I have the
power settings for 'Suspend when inactive for' set to 'Don't suspend'.
My best guess is that this is related to upower, as it seems gnome-
power-manager is no longer in use.

** Affects: upower (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
