[Bug 1361906] Re: gvfsd-ftp crashed with SIGABRT in g_mutex_unlock_slowpath()

2014-11-04 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
I solved this problem by updating gvfs (version 1.20.2-1ubuntu2 on
Ubuntu 14.10) with a newer version (1.22.1-1) from Debian Unstable.
Steps:

- Install the package debian-archive-keyring:

sudo apt-get install debian-archive-keyring

- Add the following line at the end of the file /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib

- Refresh repositories:

sudo apt-get update

- Update gvfs:

sudo apt-get install gvfs

- Delete or comment the line previously added in the file
/etc/apt/sources.list.

- Refresh repositories:

sudo apt-get update

must give more information. I have this bug for a while (and I still
have it on Ubuntu 11.10), and it makes Nautilus unusable for ftp.

[Bug 838290] [NEW] Folder appears twice in Places

2011-08-31 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Public bug reported:

If Desktop and Download folders are set to the same path, Nautilus
will display this folder twice in the Computer section on the sidebar.

To reproduce the bug:

1) Open ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs and set the same path for Desktop
and Download:

XDG_DESKTOP_DIR=$HOME/Bureau
XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR=$HOME/Bureau

2) Kill Nautilus and open it again.

3) Make sure the sidebar and Places are displayed on Display
Sidebar.

Actual result: Bureau is displayed twice on the Computer section.
See the attached screenshot.

Expected result: see only one link to Bureau.

More information: if we comment the Download folder on ~/.config
/user-dirs.dirs:

XDG_DESKTOP_DIR=$HOME/Bureau
#XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR=$HOME/Bureau

then kill Nautilus and open it again, only one link to Bureau is
displayed.

My config:

- Nautilus 3.1.4
- Ubuntu 11.10 Alpha 3
- locale: fr_CA.UTF-8

[Bug 821544] [NEW] Places in the sidebar keep listing non existent folders

2011-08-05 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu Oneiric Alpha 3 (session Gnome fallback mode), Nautilus
displays on its sidebar 3 lists of emplacements: Bookmarks, Computer
and Network. In the section Computer, folders created by default on
home are listed: Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, etc.

If we remove on home one of these folders (for example Music), it's
still listed on the section Computer, even if we kill and restart
Nautilus. If we click on the non existent folder on the sidebar, we have
this error message:

Could not find /home/ubuntu/Music.
Please check the spelling and try again.

Expected result: non existent folders should not be listed.

[Bug 821544] Re: Places in the sidebar keep listing non existent folders

2011-08-05 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Hi Brendan,

If folders listed in the section Computer are bookmarks, they seem to
be hard coded. The problem is that I can't find any way to remove an
emplacement listed in the section Computer. On Nautilus, if we go to
Bookmarks Edit Bookmarks..., any modification will be reflected in
the section Bookmarks but not in the section Computer.

See the attached screenshot. In this screenshot, we can see that I
deleted the folder Music on my home but it's still listed in the
section Computer even if it's not a bookmark.

[Bug 551032] Re: FTP links in the left panel are invalid

2010-04-01 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Pedro Villavicencio wrote:
may you tell us with which name are you saving the bookmark

It's not a bookmark that I save, but a link that is added automatically
by Nautilus when a remote location is accessed. Here are the steps to
reproduce the bug:

1) Open Nautilus.

2) Do Ctrl+L to access the location bar, write a valid FTP location
(for example: ftp://u...@server.ext) and press Enter. The location is
accessed and a shortcut is automatically added by Nautilus in the left
panel. See the attached screen shot ftp-shortcut.png.

3) Click on the shortcut previously added by Nautilus.

Actual result: a window error is displayed (see the attached screen shot
window-error.png). The location isn't accessible by this shortcut,
because the link is:

ftp://u...@server.ext/%22/%22%20is%20the%20current%20directory

but it should be:

2010-03-29 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
I have this bug on Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1. I can always reproduce it by
clicking on a mounted media icon (hard disk, cdroms) on the desktop, and
then Nautilus will crash. See the attached backtrace.

[Bug 551032] [NEW] FTP links in the left panel are invalid

2010-03-29 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Since I updated to Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1, when I access a FTP location,
the link that is automatically added in the left panel of Nautilus is
invalid:

ftp://u...@ftp.server.net/%22/%22%20is%20the%20current%20directory

So if I click on this link, I have this error:

Impossible d'afficher
« ftp://u...@ftp.server.net/%22/%22%20is%20the%20current%20directory ».
Erreur : Le fichier n'est pas un répertoire
Sélectionnez un autre visionneur et essayez à nouveau.

The string after the FTP server is invalid:

%22/%22%20is%20the%20current%20directory

and should not be there.

[Bug 531641] [NEW] Can't open archives in Trash folder

2010-03-03 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

To reproduce the bug:

1) Create any archive, for example put some files in archive.tar.
2) In Nautilus, click right on archive.tar and remove it (put it in the Trash
folder).
3) In Nautilus, go to the Trash folder, find the file archive.tar and try to
open it with File Roller.

Actual result: not possible to open the archive, File Roller has always
this error:

Une erreur s'est produite durant le chargement de l'archive.
tar: option requires an argument -- f
Try `tar --help' or `tar --usage' for more information.

[Bug 485352] Re: window list applet fails to use its settings (it changes from two rows to one row)

Draycen DeCator wrote:

You're right. If I set the height of my panel to 54 px instead of 52 px,
the window list applet stays to 2 rows. Good news. :-)

Do you believe there should be a setting for how many rows the Windows
List applet should use at all times?

Definitively. I think it would be less disturbing to be able to have
always X row(s).

Thanks a lot for the discussion.

Yes, I would like, because it's a little annoying.

I believe that the Windows List applet is programmed to behave this
way so that the titles of the open windows are always visible.

But I don't really understand your explication about this normal
behavior to make the titles always visible. For example, how encoding
EUC-JP could make a title not all visible? In all web pages making to
occur the bug, there's no line break on the title tag, so I don't
understand the window list applet behavior.

I've just found an interesting information: all web sites with Japanese
characters (encoding EUC-JP) on their title tag make the bug to
occur on my machine. That is the reason why the website
http://sisinmaru.blog17.fc2.com/ also makes my window list applet
buggy. An easy and fast way to see the bug is to visit Japanese pages on
Wikipedia :

http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:%E6%97%A5%E6%9C%AC

Also, when I closed the .pdf, the windows list returned to two rows. Is
this happening for you as well?

Yes, and also with web sites when I close the browser tab.

by visiting the mentioned web site. Then, several months later, I

[Bug 485352] Re: window list applet changes from two rows to one row

2009-12-22 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Hi Pedro. You didn't understand my report, because it's not a window
list applet change from one to two rows, but the opposite.

Say I have 10 open windows, including a browser (say Firefox). My
window list applet is displayed on two rows. Then if I open a tab in
my browser (the number of open windows didn't change) to visit precisely
the website http://sisinmaru.blog17.fc2.com/ (and not another), my
window list applet preferences is no longer applied, and all my 10
open windows are displayed on only one row. My window list applet
becomes again on two lines if the browser's tab about
http://sisinmaru.blog17.fc2.com/ is closed or is no longer active.

I've been having this bug for a while, but only with
http://sisinmaru.blog17.fc2.com/.

[Bug 485352] [NEW] window list applet style changes when I visit a specific website

2009-11-19 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

My window list applet style is usually on 2 lines when I have more
than 1 window opened. See the attached screen shot usual-display.png.

However, when I open a specific website on a browser (I can reproduce
the bug with Firefox, Epiphany or liferea), the window list applet
style changes to be only on 1 line. See the attached screen shot
changed-display.png.

I can always reproduce this bug with these steps:

[Bug 459423] Re: Unable to play video from Youtube plugin results

2009-11-19 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
I updated Totem on Karmic with proposed repository, but I still have a
bug with search. If my search string has only ascii characters, it's ok
(I see results and I can display videos), but if my search string
contains non-ascii characters, the search seems to loop infinitely and I
never see results.

To reproduce the bug, make this search in the Youtube plugin search
field:

chaplin la ruée vers l'or

We never see any results. Now change the search string to:

chaplin la ruee vers l'or

and we immediately see results.

[Bug 466872] Re: Totem froze at the end of a video

2009-10-31 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
I found a way to always reproduce the bug with this video:

1) In Totem, open the video.
2) To save time, put the cursor a few seconds from the end of the video, and
play the rest.
3) When the video is end, minimize the Totem's window by clicking on the
Totem's button of the Window List.
4) Click again on the Totem's button of the Window List to give focus to the
Totem's window.

Then we have the bug: Totem's interface is froze.
