Hi Jonathan :-) 0781:74d0 : mtp mode, handled by libmtp 0781:74d1 : msc mode, handled by media-player-info Your lsusb from Comment #5 shows that you are now using msc mode (you were using mtp in Comment #1). So is the original reporter. But in Comment #6 you have shown that you have an outdated mpi file (which is normal as it is the one currently in Maverick). [Bug 505645] Re: Sansa Clip+ (CLIPP, Clip Plus) digital audio player not recognised properly
@Phil Housley This should work in Maverick as it is now correctly handled by media-player-info. @Jonathan Blackhall 0x74d0 is the ID of your player in MTP mode (not msc). [Bug 280625] Re: Evolution uses the PC speaker to alert of new messages
The same problem exists in Firefox when searching a string that is not found on the page. I have looked in sounds preferences and can disable this pc speaker sound by disabling "Play alert sound" checkbox. However when enabled if I test the alert sound, it is a normal (wave) sound. This means that 1) The alert sound is not honoured in Firefox and Evolution and 2) Evolution, choose to play an alert instead of the new mail sound (which is not existant by default) ** Summary changed: - Evolution uses the PC speaker to alert of new messages + Evolution and Firefox uses the PC speaker for alerts -- Evolution and Firefox uses the PC speaker for alerts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280625 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 280625] [NEW] Evolution uses the PC speaker to alert of new messages
Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce : 1) Let Evolution open in the background 2) Receive an e-mail Expected result : 1) The sound defined in System/Preferences/sounds is played (In Intrepid, this sound doesn't seem to exist, that might trigger this bug) or no sound is played Actual result : 1) An alert from the PC speaker is heard (PC speaker sound by default in a 2008 modern desktop for incomming mail is really lame) ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Evolution uses the PC speaker to alert of new messages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280625 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
