Select Fcitx as input method, log out, log in again. The GUI (gnome)
becomes extremely sluggish, and does not react to keyboard input any
more after a couple of seconds. CTRL-Alt-Backspace luckily works. After
several attempts I managed to change the input method back to Ibus
I have a similar problem in 18.04, extremely slow mpt access to a Huawei
P20. Installation of libmtp9_1.1.17-2, libmtp-common_1.1.17-2 and
libmtp-runtime_1.1.17-2 did not result in any improvement.

The file in /usr/lib and /usr/local/lib are both identical. I kept the
old one in a separate folder and it has the same sha1sum. But the file
in /usr/lib seems to be spurious as well, since it is not associated
with any package and variants with newer timestamp of libsqlite3.so.0
persists in
Ah, thanks, Nautilus works again after removing
/usr/local/lib/libsqlite3.so.0. Wonder where the file in /usr/local/lib
came from. It's also strange that the files in /usr/lib and /usr/local
lib were identical according to diff.

The bug still persists. sqlite-autoconf is neither installed on my
machine nor contained in the repository. Purging and reinstalling
natilus, sqlite and libtracker did not help.

Gnome-shell crashes randomly and causes a black screen for about 1
second. It immediately recovers and one can continue the session without
logging in again. This occurs once daily, so it is not yet annoying.

dialogue, so that path can be entered as text on default, not requiring

The minimum zoom level is annoying, too. The current minimum zoom level
is 10%, which makes it impossible to display high resolution pdf on a
single screen width. This effects PDFs produced from scans where the
density was set to a wrong value, i.e. a 600dpi scan labelled as 75dpi.
Evince should
Good questions. The default setting on the log on screen is Ubuntu
(not compiz), whatever that means. Choosing a gnome session works just
fine and invokes a window manager. So this is not a bug in gnome-wm. I
guess that when the default session Ubuntu is selected, no window
manager is started at

Whenever I log in, the window manager dies immediately. The file menus
goes missing in all windows and it is not possible to switch between
windows with alt+tab. I always have to invoke gnome-wm --replace from
the command line.
