[Bug 879627] [NEW] Brasero crashes the hole system – simple reboot - pc still broken
Public bug reported: Oneiric 64-Bit up-to-date Unity 3D Brasero 3.2.0 What you expected to happen: Burning an iso should work flawless. What happened instead: START - Select and start iso image burning using a blank new CD. - Firefox freezes and systems feels like it is under heavy load ~30 sec → 'System monitor' says low cup usage MIDTERM - Brasero seems to work correct for 1 minute. Firefox is no longer friezed. END - Brasero says that 'burning was successful', but the mouse wheel icon is still turning and the disk not ejected. I wait ~1 min. - Firefox freezes again. I try to open a terminal using a shortcut - doesn't work. - I try to open a terminal using the Dash - Dash opens, I can search and click → doesn't work. It's still possible to click on windows and get them focused - but it isn't longer possible to really interact with the computer. - I try 'CTRL+ALT+F1'. After login I get immediately this message: [25612.493259] end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 67385240 - Can't write only the error message is displayed. - I try other virtual terminals with the same result. - I do a hard reboot using the hardware key on the computer. Next shock - it doesn't boot, new error message: DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT DISK AND PRESS ENTER - I pressed the power button of the computer longer to shut it down. After a view seconds I booted again - everything is fine. This isn't the first time I have problems with Brasero. Every new Ubuntu iteration I'll give it a try and it never worked for me. Brasero doesn't work either with my old Pentium 4. Thats why I use K3B most of the time - KDE interface but it works. [Bug 876897] Re: Changing the default application for photos has no effect for several image types (png...)
When changing the default photo application to 'Shotwell Viewer' to view images I do assume that it opens all kind of image formats that it is capable of viewing → .png For a dev png might be not an image format but for the people out there - they don't know what the differences of jpg and png are and when to use the one or the other. The reason I use 'Shotwell Viewer' is because of its editing skills, for the rest I don't see (as user) any differences to 'Image Viewer'. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876897 Title: Changing the default application for photos has no effect for several image types (png...) [Bug 821891] [NEW] Nautilus shortcut for new blank file
Public bug reported: Oneiric up-to-date Nautilus 3.1.4 It would be nice if I could create a new file by pressing a shortcut like it is already possible for folders (CTRL+SHIFT+N).
