[Bug 868400] Re: Synaptics touchpad stops working - two syndaemon instances running
I did a clean install of 12.04, followed by a deja-dup restore of a backup of my home directory. I then enabled disable touchpad while typing. Then I began having these symptoms. Previously, (when I was on 11.10 , from which the backup was made) I had created a custom syndaemon launcher startup because the normal disable touchpad while typing didn't work very well (cursor would still jump sometimes when I brushed the touchpad while typing). I didn't realize this would persist in startup applications preferences after the clean install followed by restore. Apparently it did, and so I got this error - two syndaemons running. Just posting on the off chance others make the same mistake. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868400 Title: Synaptics touchpad stops working - two syndaemon instances running To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/868400/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 871560] Re: No way to disable screen locking after suspend in Gnome 3
For users without much experience, this is a real problem. I'm transitioning my wife from Mac OS to ubuntu, and she will likely perceive the need to login after every sleep as a great annoyance. So I respectfully ask that this be addressed. [Bug 620529] [NEW] Show main window after launching Rhythmbox
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox After launching an application, the normal expectation is that its window should appear in the foreground. On my Ubuntu 10.04 system this is not the case when opening Rhythmbox (0.12.8) . The only change is that the icon appears in my panel, which I must then click to cause Rhythmbox to appear. This breaks many conventions of application behavior, and could be confusing for new users who may not have noticed the appearance of the icon. Even for those that do, a common need after opening an application like Rhythmbox is to play something. So it seems as though it would be best if it appeared in the foreground after being launched. Many thanks to all those who have contributed time and energy to this project. ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Show main window after launching Rhythmbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/620529 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
