Re: [Bug 314516] Re: gnome-sharp2 transition
Hi, I just thought of letting you know that I had dependency problem while upgrading to jaunty alpha 4 The following packages have unmet dependencies: tomboy: Depends: libgconf2.0-cil (= 2.20.0) but it is not going to be installed Depends: libgnome2.0-cil (= 2.20.0) but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages This is due to the fact some programs have been transitioned to new packages (i. e. f-spot) while some haven't been processed yet (i. e. tomboy). This will be solved for good once each source package listed above is fixed. [Bug 65971] Re: Gnome 2.16 crashes after loading some apps
Try to switch temporarily to gdm by modifiy /etc/X11/default-display- manager file and see what happens. When you added agpgart module to blacklist file, did you check with lsmod if it was blacklisted correctly? -- Gnome 2.16 crashes after loading some apps https://launchpad.net/bugs/65971 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 65971] Re: Gnome 2.16 crashes after loading some apps
It would be very useful if you can attach a backtrace of it. In order to do so, you can login in a virtual console and launch the following command: gdb /usr/bin/gnome-session -p pid_of_your_gnome-session Once you reach gdb prompt, type the following instructions: handle SIGKILL nopass stop print handle SIGQUIT nopass stop print cont Now you can use your GNOME session normally and, when crash occours, you can switch to the virtual console and obtain a backtrace with the following instructions: backtrace info regs thread apply all backtrace Those informations will be very useful to triage this bug. -- Gnome 2.16 crashes after loading some apps https://launchpad.net/bugs/65971 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
