I don't think this has anything to do with Rhythmbox inspite of those reports. I tried the test and there is nothing related to the issue in ~/.xsession-errors. On the other hand, I can reproduce the issue in shotwell pretty much every time with Rhythmbox not running and the MTP plugin disabled
