gconf-editor and uncheck the following option:
apps-gnome-power-manager-lock-suspend
The problem will happen when suspend is triggered from fn-f4 (not from
the user switcher applet).
But it never happens if this option
Stoping acpid before suspend fixes this for me as well on Intrepid
(Thinkpad T61).
