I think this also has issues with the screensaver/screen lock - the
keyboard seems to switch back to US layout for me after re-entering the
password on the screen lock.

I've had the same problem. I didn't manage to debug the crash (quite
complicated because it's a async x issue and I couldn't get enough debug
symbols (why dont -dbgsym packages state dependencies?)
However, I did manage to track it down to the gconf key

I also see this formatting message message occasionally and evolution hangs.
I have evolution open continuously and it works most of the time. It can be
running for many days (reading many emails) without showing this message.
I have one pop and one imap account.
The traces seem to suggest

Another report for gutsy, with upstart concurrency enabled. I fixed this
with mv /etc/rc2.d/S12hal /etc/rc2.d/S13hal. Is there any chance hal and
dbus could have different startup numbers for hardy?

Ah, yes, sorry.
I've just checked about:plugins and realised that mozplugger is attempting to
do the embedding. Sorry for not spotting this earlier.

In case it's useful, I've retested with a recent jhbuild (of 2.18) and
the latest gtk does indeed now work on a printer where it doesn't work

Public bug reported:
This is the same issue as in Bug #3667, but with the new gtk+ printing
support. The options for multi-page printing is present, but it does
nothing. This is tested with a Laserjet-5P, in case it is specific to
this printer.

The speed of menus, especially the panel menu, are a very common cause
of complaints from users. Part of the performance problem is that there
is a 1/4s delay before a sub-menu pops up. I have created a local copy
of gtk+ with the default delay set to 0 and the panel seems
The upstream report basically says that this does not work and will not be
fixed since the next gtk release will replace libgnomeprint.
However, can't we at least disable the option for dapper, to avoid annoying
users by offering a feature but not implementing it.
