[Bug 495880] Re: Extracting a file with german Umlaut in the filename doesn't work

2010-05-12 Thread Markus Drexelius
I fully agree with Kovacs: this bugs makes the Ubuntu environment
relatively useless for a non english user. Escpecially for non technical
users, that cannot unzip such a file via command line this is an
additional argument to switch back to windows, where this is absolutely
no problem. In Ubuntu 10.04 this bug still exists...

[Bug 495880] [NEW] Extracting a file with german Umlaut in the filename doesn't work

2009-12-12 Thread Markus Drexelius
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

I have received a zip containing a file with a german Umlaut in the
filename. I cannot extract the file because I get the following error
message:

caution: filename not matched: Liste Verwaltung und Verk\?ndigung
Dezember 2009.xls

I have no possibility to change the filename and eliminate the Umlaut
in the filename...

[Bug 252487] [NEW] Additional field Start tracknumber in GUI

2008-07-28 Thread Markus Drexelius
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sound-juicer

The tracknumbers starts with number 1 for each CD that I insert. When
ripping multiple disk volumes (e.g. audiobooks) it would be very helpful
to change starting the numbering with a number other then 1.

I suggest to implement an additional field Start track number in the
GUI where the user can enter the number of the first track. Sound-juicer
than increases the number by 1 for each following track.

The feature disc number seems not to work with any mp3 player, e.g.
samsung YP-K3 doesn't sort the tracks with multiple discs in the right
order, so it seem, that it doesn't use the tag discnumber in a correct
way.

[Bug 252487] Re: Additional field Start tracknumber in GUI

2008-07-28 Thread Markus Drexelius
My intention is not to obligatory implement it in the main window, but
to implement this feature in general to sound-juicer (in which place /
dialogue box is another question).

It is a great feature of the MS windows based cdex software,
escpecially for ripping audiobooks that's popularity increasing more and
more. But this software is only available for windows.

There is no real reliable solution to rip audio books with sound juicer
to play audiobooks in a right way on mp3 players, so I have to fallback
continously to windows (what is a horror for me ;-)

So, you think I have to open an additional bug-report at gnome bugzilla?

[Bug 250265] [NEW] Simplifying transfer to Musicbrainz for a new release

It is a little bit annoying to feed musicbrainz with a new release that
is'n available in musicbrainz. When I have entered the track numbers,

[Bug 234794] Re: Directories disappear in nautilus, after reboot they are back again

2008-05-25 Thread Markus Drexelius
I am not sure, when exactly the problem occurs and it isn't really
reproducable. The last time it happened when the computer run a while
and I logged in. My home directory is affected by the problem: some
directories are visible, many others doesn't exist any longer in
nautilus. I tried everything: logout and login again, refreshing the
file lists and so on. But only a complete reboot solved the problem (for
a while).

The affected partition is a reiserfs-partition. Because of the fact that
all directory were shown in a command shell and not in nautilus I
reasoned that's maybe a problem of nautilus...

Sorry, what's a stock configuration?

The problem occurs since upgrading from ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04. I hadn't
any problems before.

the default settings. I know this feature from Windows: there you can
enable it via the printing dialog in each application as a per job

[Bug 150193] Re: Remote Login via XDMCP is not working in Ubuntu Gusty/7.10

2008-05-02 Thread Markus Drexelius
I have updated to Ubuntu 8.04 in the hope, that this problem is fixed in the
new release, but the problem still exists: I cannot connect to another machine
in my local LAN, both now running ubuntu 8.04. I will get only a black screen
and it doesn't work. The discussions about the bug are a little bit confusing.
Has the reason for the bug been found? Changing the session manager to KDM is
not really helpful, because some essential functions of the ubuntu gnome
desktop doesn't work with kdm (e.g. switching the user).
When will the bug be fixed? Thanks a lot.
