Here's my experience with the ProblemExample picture I'm running Karmic Gimp 2.6.7: opens fine EOG 2.28.1: opens fine, only the far right part is blurred (yellow person cut) Firefox 3.5.8: same, here the far right part is black (yellow person cut) gthumb 2.10.x (I've got a repository compiled version): - the whole picture opens fine - in the crop tool, the image is completely blurred gthumb 2.11.x: - like EOG, opening is fine with far right blurred - crop tool has the same problem, the image is completely blurred Note that 2.10.x is obsolete and the developer(s) only works on the new 2.11.x rewritten serie. I agree with Sancho. This is definitely a paper cut. The risk-of-tons-of-useless-items-in-template-menu is really NOT justified IMHO, compared to the bad user experience it gives, as reported here. I can testify the same with user used to this behavior and bothered. It's really not a big deal to at least have the 3 (or 4) most used OOo documents: word proc, spreadsheet, presentation and drawing. How much ton of useless item will I have ??
