[Bug 439448] Re: Visual corruption affecting several panel applets

2010-10-17 Thread MaxNegro
Another workaround is to change the current theme (via
system/preferences/appearance) to another one. Once done, the panel get
drawn correctly and you can switch back to the old one. This approach
has the advantage that it can be used also where the panel is locked
down (as in UNE edition).

As a side note, if you have to switch off in a hurry and are not able to
use any of the workarounds proposed here, I think it is safe to hit the
power button: it should be linked via acpi messages to the shutdown
dialog.

[Bug 445123] Re: No GUI option to disable face browser

2010-03-26 Thread MaxNegro
Please, this _bug_ is standing since karmic. It introduced a regression
in user experience and renders gdm login unsuitable for corporate users
(or my shared home machine, for what it's worth). I think that delaying
the fix until lucid+1 is not a good idea, especially because lucid is
intended to be a LTS version.

[Bug 445123] Re: No GUI option to disable face browser

2010-03-26 Thread MaxNegro
Rick, Robbie, I'm obviously in no position to sponsor the release of a
fix for this particular bug. Point is this is not a desired feature:
this is a major regression that is outstanding since karmic, and that is
going to go unfix in LTS. I understand the feature freeze, but I think
that simply ignoring the problem is NOT going to make Lucis ship with
the kind of excellent quality our users deserve. My opinion, of course.

[Bug 135616] Re: Gimp 2.3 crash

2007-09-30 Thread MaxNegro
Same behaviour here: gimp or some of its plugins keeps crashing
randomly. If launched with G_SLICE=always-malloc it's stable as rock.

Please let know if I may help with debugging by sending more factual
infos.
