I had the same problem after an upgrade from 17.10 to 18.04 - worked
fine in 17.10. Worked fine for other CD types, just not audio CDs. In
desperation I installed k3b, which I used prior to finding brasero a
couple years ago. On launch it complained about permissions on
/usr/bin/cdrdao - it needed
I couldn't find the other bug, but as of today with all current updates,
the above problems have been fixed and all works normally for me.

I will confirm that I can now print from Windows 2000 to my DeskJet 920C
with both SMB and IPP protocols. Neither worked before, and I changed
nothing besides applying all updates.

MS Windows client cannot print to the CUPS printer server
The Create launcher dialog accessed with a right-click on the desktop works
correctly now. There are still problems with adding a launcher to the panel.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Right click on panel and select Add to panel...
2. Click on Custom Application Launcher.
3. Fill in anything, or
I will take back my comment above. While confirming that another bug
was fixed, I noticed that Step 3 now allows you to initially name a new
printer.

Could this same fix be used with the Browse Icons dialog in Create
launcher, as accessed either from right-click on desktop or from Add
to Panel... - Custom Application Launcher?

dmesg showed my Toshiba Satellite A50's parallel port was in ECP.
However, BIOS only has two options: ECP and Standard Bi-Directional.
Neither setting allowed my printers to be detected.

updates since then. During the inital installation I added a HP
LaserJet
As Mark's pictures posted March 6 show, the backend did recognize all of
our printers in Breezy (or, in my case, Hoary - they were already
installed when I dist-upgraded to Breezy).
