Seems to be OK in Ubuntu 15.04. I vote for closing the bug.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evince
If I print a document (such as the one attached below), evince generates
large print jobs (~3MB for the 9 page doc attached) that takes forever
to print. While wating, a ghostscript process (gs) takes 100% cpu. This
process does not complete

I think a good modification to the invisible drag handle proposal
would be to rather use resize border resistance. This is a solution
that won't require more than 1 px of UI space to work well. How I
envisage it working is:
1) keep your arbitrarily small window border resize

The new poppler debs seem to to have hit the archive yet, but is it
likely that I can install the new debs on a hardy installation?
Otherwise, should I request a backport?

Yep, fixed in released hardy as far as I'm concerned. Showing free space

concerned... I think this bug is safe to close?

On second thought... Filesystem is kind of a meta-concept that just
happens to include the root parition. What would probably make sense is
to summarise all the mounted filesystem's info somehow. This is actually
a surprisingly complicated issue to present completely logically in an
UI ;)

The problem I have is not that the thumbnail generation is slow, but
that gthumb is unresponsive while this happens. A typical directory I
work with in gthumb will have 100s of pictures/RAW files. Generating
thumbnails for all takes 10's of minutes, during which time i can't
really use gthumb.
