[Bug 801887] [NEW] Ocasionally cannot select files on desktop

2011-06-25 Thread OC
Public bug reported:

Sometimes, when I click on files on the desktop, they cannot be selected.
It is possible to select the file only when clicking in an area above some
(unpredictable) part of the file icon.

This is hard to describe so I taped a video of it (two files attached)
which I hope explains the problem well.

Since taping the video I have not been able to reproduce the problem,
even with the same exact two files at the same exact position.

Ubuntu 11.04 standard install (from scratch using ~/.* from 10.10
install), Desktop with default settings (Keep aligned selected).

[Bug 801602] [NEW] EoG always opens up in with a window height greater than desktop height

2011-06-24 Thread OC
Public bug reported:

Every time I open a photo, Eye of Gnome opens up with a window size that
is inappropriate, ie., too high to fit on the desktop. As a result, the
bottom of the window overlaps into the desktop below.

I use Ubuntu 11.04 with standard Unity install. My screen resolution is
1680 × 1050px.

I can reproduce this always, regardless of whether I have resized or maximized
the window in the previous session.
(this is just a minor annoyance in an otherwise great program, thank you for
publishing it!)

I confirm this, having witnessed three people (plus me) being
inconvenienced by the volume level on five different laptops.

[Bug 738376] Re: mon propre nom gazel est bien enregistré par UBUNTU qui feint de ne pas le reconnaitre ... faut le faire !

2011-05-17 Thread OC
Launchpad user gazel seems to have mistaken the Ubuntu project page on
Launchpad for Ubuntu itself.
S/He seems to have hit a permission error on LP and simply says something in
the lines of what are you going to do now?. Title also contains some
complaint.

The whole thing is also nonsense to a French reader. Closing as invalid.

[Bug 784228] [NEW] evince fails to print PS file to PDF file

2011-05-17 Thread OC
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

Askubuntu user sdaau reports the following [1]:

This is my problem:

Open a document in Evince, choose Print
Choose Printer: Print to file
Choose Output Format: PDF
(add a filename output.pdf in the box if not there)
Click on Print
Experience the following message:

 Failed to print document.
Printing is not supported on this printer.

By the way, printing to an Output Format .ps file works fine.

I can reproduce this bug trying to print a PS file to PDF.
Sample file is attached, created with LibreOffice 3.3 on Natty.

evince 2.32.0-0ubuntu12.1
libreoffice-calc 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu4
Ubuntu 11.04 fresh install with all ~/.* user settings copied from 10.10
installation.

[Bug 599023] Re: gThumb failed to lauch after the latest update (6/27/10)

2010-07-02 Thread OC
I suggest either renaming this bug as improper removal of unity PPA breaks
gThumb and Gimp behavior,
or closing it as invalid.

[Bug 599023] Re: gThumb failed to lauch after the latest update (6/27/10)

2010-06-29 Thread OC
Thanks, this worked for me.

Detailed steps are:

#1 Add PPA from Xorg-edgers :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
sudo apt-get update

#2 Install package ppa-purge
sudo ppa-purge ppa:canonical-dx-team/une

#3 Run ppa-purge
sudo ppa-purge ppa:canonical-dx-team/une
(accept all proposals else it won’t work)

#4 De-activate PPA from Xorg edgers

#5 Check for and install updates.

Note : for me, this solved Gimp crashing on various simple actions, too (ex:
cropping).
Thanks, Fixt!

[Bug 599023] Re: gThumb failed to lauch after the latest update (6/27/10)

2010-06-27 Thread OC
Confirming the exact same problem. 10.04 i386.

This cropped up after I installed the Opera browser (10.11, deb from
their website) and played with Unity (added ppa:canonical-dx-team/une
and installed ubuntu-netbook-unity-default-settings package). I don’t
know which of the two caused that.
