a couple of questions that can help further diagnose your issue...
were you able to reproduce the crash? If so did you check the offending
jpg by opening it in another image viewer, and what were the results?

This is more of a feature request item/ question than a bug. Using
multiple accounts in evolution is very easily done. Just enable the
account in preferences and you will have the option to send mail from
that account simply by selecting the account in the drop down from field
in a new mail.
I would tend to agree with phr0ze in that this is not a bug but as
designed and working as intended.

/etc/hosts doesnt match your hostname in /etc/hostname.
To resolve that issue change /etc/hosts
