[Bug 830348] Re: desktop contents briefly visible on resume from suspend before lock dialog
This affects me on 12.04 using conventional 3d unity. I just returned to my laptop after a several hours, swished my mouse, and the screen came back on, unlocked... I thought odd... shouldn't this be locked? and just assumed that I must have absent-mindedly unlocked it earlier. I then went to start using the laptop, and as soon as I touched the keyboard, the lock screen came up. There was a delay of several seconds before the lock came up - it was certainly long enough to convince me that the screen was unlocked and ready to use. ** Also affects: unity Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/830348 Title: desktop contents briefly visible on resume from suspend before lock dialog To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/830348/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1009527] [NEW] user-accounts panel does not give the option to encrypt a new user's home directory
Public bug reported: The gnome-control-center user-accounts panel does not give the user the option to encrypt a new user's home directory. This omission is clearly a bug, because the user is given the option of encrypting their own home directory when installing the operating system, and therefore would certainly expect this functionality to be available for creating new accounts via the GUI. [Bug 547015] [NEW] Backlight brightness not reduced when on battery power
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager In Power Management Preferences under the On Battery Power tab, I have Reduce backlight brightness ticked. [Bug 546873] [NEW] User Administration Tool has significantly delayed repsonse (with no feedback)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools Possible duplicate of #542744 ? Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1. When using the users-admin tool from gnome-system-tools, every instance of clicking on an 'OK' button causes the application to pause/freeze/delay for 10-20 seconds before completing the intended action, even if the action is not actually causing any change to data. E.g. I click on Advanced Settings (for the current user), and then Authenticate. I click on the User Privileges tab, and then 'OK'. There is no response for several seconds before the dialog finally disappears. I then click Manage Groups, and examine the properties of any group, e.g. Audio - when I click 'OK' to close the dialog there is no response for 10-20 seconds before the dialog finally closes. ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- User Administration Tool has significantly delayed repsonse (with no feedback) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546873 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-system-tools in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 546873] Re: users-admin has significantly delayed response after clicking OK
The delay is one thing, but it's the not having any visual feedback (e.g. busy icon) that's most disconcerting, as you don't know whether or not your click has been registered, or whether or not the app has completely locked up! -- users-admin has significantly delayed response after clicking OK https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546873 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to system-tools-backends in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 438087] [NEW] Deleted Items Applet does not give feedback when clicked (i.e. busy cursor)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Description:Ubuntu 8.10 Release:8.10 Deleted Items Applet 2.24.1 When I click on the Deleted Items Applet icon (the 'Wastebasket') in the bottom right of the task bar, it opens up the Deleted Items folder, eventually. However, between clicking the icon and opening up the folder in Nautilus there is no visual feedback that the icon has been successfully clicked (i.e. 'busy cursor'). Even though I have a very fast dual-core laptop, the Deleted Items folder does not always open 'instantly' (depending on what else I am running) and I frequently will click on the icon several times and then eventually, several instances of Nautilus will appear. This is annoying. It would be nice to have a busy cursor to indicate that the click has been recognised. [Bug 402279] Re: nautilus unable to delete directories correctly over WebDAV
Shouldn't there be a semi-automated procedure in launchpad for sending bug reports upstream? It's a bit much to ask ordinary users to submit a report twice, isn't it? I suspected this was an upstream bug, but it was just convenient for me to use the built-in bug reporting feature. -- nautilus unable to delete directories correctly over WebDAV https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/402279 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 402279] [NEW] nautilus unable to delete directories correctly over WebDAV
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus 1) Ubuntu 8.10 2) nautilus: Installed: 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu2 3) When deleting a non-empty folder on a WebDAV mount (either by selecting it and pressing DEL or by right-clicking and selecting Move to the Deleted Items Folder) I am asked ... do you want to delete permanently? to which I respond Delete. I then expect the folder to disappear silently. 4) However, instead I get a dialog box Error while deleting Not found for every single file in the folder that I wish to delete. I can click through with Skip or Skip All and at the end I am left with an empty folder (which should have been deleted). I then have to delete the folder again, and again get Error while deleting Not found for the folder itself. If I click Skip again I find the folder is deleted, but it still remains visible in nautilus until I press Reload.
