[Bug 1174313] [NEW] Account creation window is empty

2013-04-29 Thread Paul Hoell
Public bug reported:

When i try to add my ICQ account to empathy, the window where i used to enter
the account details is empty, except for Abort and Done.
The details to this account should have been saved from a previous, working,
state but this is empty too. The same happens when i try to re-add the account.

I'm on 64bit 13.04 + proposed.

I attached a screenshot of the account creation window, sorry for the
german locale, but the bug should be apparent.

[Bug 843798] Re: Setting empathy status via messaging menu deactivated when autostarting empathy

2012-03-17 Thread Paul Hoell
That is not true Bilal. You mistook my meaning. I was never talking
about any setting for autoconnection. I was and still am talking about
the problem, that when you put empathy in the autostart, the status
changer in unity's indicator don't work.

This still happens in 12.04 btw.

Please revert your status change.

[Bug 843798] [NEW] Setting empathy status via messaging menu deactivated when autostarting empathy

2011-09-07 Thread Paul Hoell
Public bug reported:

I usually prefer my IM application to start automatically in the
background at boot time. So i it up in start-up applications in the
system preferences using /usr/bin/empathy -h as command line.

Empathy starts fine at boot and connects to various networks. But the status
switching via the messaging menu is grayed out, while being still available via
the application window itself.
The only way to resolve this, is to start empathy manually after the system has
finished loading.

I also tried without -h which would be the default behavior when
starting manually, but that doesn't change the behavior with autostart.

[Bug 433651] Re: Chat window grows beyond screen bounds - no text wrap when typing in the message entry

2011-09-07 Thread Paul Hoell
This is NOT fixed in oneiric, at least not in version 3.1.90-0ubuntu1
which is the most recent available.

I won't mess with the settings, as this affects a lot of people, but the
bug is still valid, the text box doesn't expand vertically, only
horizontally and the chat window resizes accordingly.

I just explored this further, the same behavior is visible with Jabber

This makes using these features very cumbersome, bordering on unusable.

[Bug 843927] [NEW] Main window inactive at creation

2011-09-07 Thread Paul Hoell
Public bug reported:

The situation:
I have a running instance of empathy, hidden in the messaging menu. Whenever
i want to open the main window to start a conversation, i have several ways to
get there: messageing menu, pinned icon in the launcher, calling the dash and
typing the name.

In all those cases, empathy's main window shows as expected, but never
gets the focus, so you have to click it first to be able to use the
menu.

There is only one other instance where this happens, and that is if i
call the running instance of google-music-frame (using gnome's web-app
functionality) via the dash. It does not happen if i call GMF via the
sound menu.

Everytime the problem with the focus appears, the window controls of the
corresponding window are grayed out, even though they work fine. The
stay grayed out, even if i focus the window manually. I attach a small
screenshot of the controls.
