Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Nautilus hasput himself on fullscreen after a compiz bug and now, it's impossible to quit fullscreen, to reduce or unmaximize in a normal window. Metacity had also bugged that moment, and it's possible you should search in this direction.
