[Bug 243992] Re: [Intrepid] switching to the File Systems tab in GNOME System Monitor causes it to segfault

2008-07-01 Thread Pramod Dematagoda
One more thing, this segmentation fault does not occur when only the
partitions mounted at boot are mounted, if however another
partition/drive is mounted then System Monitor loses it and starts
segfaulting.

So this problem is not related to the File System tab.

[Bug 212884] [NEW] [Hardy] two screensavers do not function properly

2008-04-06 Thread Pramod Dematagoda
Public bug reported:

There are two screensavers that do not function properly:-
1) Floating Ubuntu
2) Braid

1) In this case there is no screensaver at all, just a blank screen with
no activity going on, perhaps Floating Ubuntu is misplaced.

2) In this screensaver there is something more serious, when you try and
preview the screensaver you suddenly get a massive increase in CPU
usage(not the amount normally associated with GL screensavers) which in
turn causes the PC to slow down so much that it makes you think it got
stuck, you can return the PC back to normal by closing the Screensaver
window as normal but a new user may not think like this.

[Bug 210798] [NEW] [Hardy] Gnome GDM will not start properly unless started through startx

2008-04-02 Thread Pramod Dematagoda
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

After applying today's updates it seems that the GDM login screen will
no longer load properly as it gets stuck in a brown screen with some CPU
activity going on.

The only way I was able to get into Gnome was by switching to a tty,
killing gdm and then starting the x-session manually although this has
created additional problems since gksudo no longer works properly as I
get a problem about the Xauthority file not being able to be copied.

If any more information is required I would be more than happy to
provide them.

[Bug 178564] [Hardy]cannot log back into GNOME after you lock the screen

2007-12-25 Thread Pramod Dematagoda
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

This issue was marked as a duplicate of Bug #131679 which labels a
Compiz-Fusion crash being the cause, but I found that the issue still
occurs even with Compiz-Fusion turned off, that is with Metacity
replacing it, so the fact that Compiz-Fusion crashed may not be the
culprit of this problem and may be something with the gnome-session
