[Bug 1813212] [NEW] Ubuntu dock auto-hide using mouse is unreliable

2019-01-24 Thread Radoslaw
Public bug reported:

This is usability bug that exists in Ubuntu starting from 2012 (see this
bug report:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/996158)

Using mouse with Ubuntu dock auto-hide mode makes the mouse to shift
left while pointer stays in place (at the left edge). The effect is your
mouse is shifting (every time you try to access the dock) to the left
until there is no space on the table and you have to take it up and move
to the right. This is very inconvinient and makes usage of the dock
unreliable.

The issue seems to be caused such a reveal mechanizm when you have to
"push" the pointer do the left edge to make dock to re-appear. The
faulty behaviour has been introduced in Unity-2D, than copied to Unity
than copied to gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock.

Currently there is no other option but DO NOT USE THE AUTO HIDE function
to avoid frustration.

[Bug 1801602] Re: Gnome 3 fullscreen doesn't work for some applications when a custom display mode (960x540) is active

2018-11-12 Thread Radoslaw
"when a custom display mode (960x540) is active" has been added to
description but (as I mentioned before) it's not true for the Steam Way
To Go game.

[Bug 1801602] Re: Gnome 3 fullscreen doesn't work for some applications

2018-11-07 Thread Radoslaw
Further investigation shows that the abe game fails fullscreen only when
I have additional xrandr mode added. It's set within session startup
script with commands:

output="HDMI-0"
xrandr --nograb --newmode "960x540" 40.75 960 992 1088 1216 540 543 548 562
-hsync +vsync
xrandr --nograb --addmode $output 960x540

When I disable the mode addition abe runs fine fullscreen. Way to Go
fails always no matter the additional mode is inserted or not.
