File to email (or Gedit > Save file) the search (via the magnifying
glass icon in the top right) only allows for 1 character to be entered,
and then jumps to the bottom right and subsequent characters appear

This just happened to me today when working with Libre Office Impress. I
pressed F5 to start a slide-show, and the screen froze for a moment. The
Ambiance theme was dropped to whatever the underlying default is for a
couple of seconds, then everything seemed to have recovered.

Well, it seems as if the bug's back. In addition, I am also not able to

The brightness controls on my MacBook Pro stopped working. The pop-up
that usually shows the brightness level does not longer pop up, and the
keys that adjust the brightness don't work anymore.
